Bushnell Launch Pro Device with Foresight

So I brought my unit to a facility that uses trackman. The spin numbers were close most of the time, but on low spin shots there was a major discrepancy and also with high spin.
 

I was getting low spin on a few shots as low as 500 RPMs while the TM never had spin below 1500 RPMs. On the other end, high spin shots were about 500 RPMs higher than the trackman.
 

I wonder which was the right spin?
 

I know I can hit the occasional nose diver off the tee, but the TM never displayed they shot, but the GC3 did.
 

Maybe I need to compare the two outside and watch the actual ball flight.

Just tested mine against a trackman a few days ago outside and barely saw any difference. I almost trust the gc3 more inside.

Me too. I thought it was odd it wasn’t showing spin under 1500 yet the GC3 showed it in the 500s. 
 

In the bay, there is about 10-12’ of flight time for the TM to get its info. 
 

The club speed and ball speed were really close though.

My GC3 stops detecting balls after several hits now ever since the update. A reboot fixes it, but it happens every time.

Yep…time to roll out a patch.  Wish they would let you go back to the previous firmware.  Saw one person say it was fine for theirs and updated.  Never again. Will wait a month or more from now on especially when everything is working decently.

RCT balls?  Were the spin numbers for trackman italicized? I’ve hit 14k or so shots with GC3 and I don’t really recall one where i thought it was a misread except when using a big white tee.

They had Srixon Z stars. I forgot about TMs italicized spin rates I should have remembered. 
 

I do use the white rubber driving range tees. Perhaps I will get some bir-tees

I highly recommend getting the birtee pro SPEED version.  I had the regular birtee pro 8 pack and they break apart really quickly.  Haven’t had any issue with the speed version through maybe 300 drivers so far.  If you use a mat with a hole for a rubber tee I really like the fiberbuilt tees.

had a few outdoor range sessions with the GC3 this weekend and I'm convinced a lot of the cases where it stops detecting the ball is heat related. out here in the desert, after sitting in the sun for 3-5 shots it stops detecting and the unit is hot to the touch from the sun. when it's on my sim in the backyard in the shade, I don't see the issue. does the Quad not have this issue? maybe it needs some kind of cooling fan.

After doing a gapping session, I went to the normal range. I got an error that says license validation and fsx2020 closed. I attempted to try it several more times including disconnecting and reconnecting my unit. It still kept happening. 
 

I didn’t upgrade the FW yet I’m getting this error. 
 

How do you guys get in touch with support, I’ve never had to do it?

Submit a service request ticket…they’ve always gotten back to me in a timely manner.

Hit about 190 balls on the FSX2020 range today and didn’t have any issues with freezing up.  Same setup as always.  Strange.

Can’t wait to take this on the course.  Do you take with on a round?  Or just for practice on the course?  Use FSX Pro to record anything or just looking at the unit?

The normal one because it’s fully unlocked. It may have been an internet issue, as I found out later that we had an internet outage around that time.

Mostly on course practice…don’t want to hold up the game.

 

Have not used the app in the course to record…the display is such great feedback .

Had ours since mid Dec. Upgraded to the latest FW. The B4 issues have been less since the manual power cycle and possibly the firmware (jinx). I have now noticed our BLP missing shots which was never the case. Possibly from the recent FW. Nothing has changed in terms of lighting etc.

 

Maybe only thing is our new black lab is wearing out the gym mat that our hitting mat is propped against. We fixed this before with an anti slip map from Amazon. Thinking when it misses shots, the mat moves a little bit. 
 

It definitely helps when we put the ball in the bottom right corner of the hitting zone.

Mevo+ owner just dropping by.....is there any info on if the BLP will be available in the UK ? It looks like we will have the GC3 in stock next month but I'm probably more in the BLP camp. 

 

Could I buy an American one and use it in the UK??

I guess I would try the foresight website if it’s fully unlocked.  They have a little chat thing and you can ask a question and a bot will try to answer and you hit get in touch button.  That’s how I’ve contacted them with some software questions

Looks similar…Played it last year. Don’t remember hitting driver off any elevated tees though there are a few par 3s that are pretty elevated.  I think 6 is 210 from the tips.

I thought there were some Canadians in this thread a while back that got the BLP from the US…not sure if they will chime in here.  I thought the plan internationally was to roll out the GC3 with a subscription in the same way as BLP at some point this year.

Is there any reliable way to connect this to an iPad at an outdoor driving range? I've taken it out for two sessions, but gave up each time trying to use the app because of the inconsistent connections. 

 

Edit: Just tried it with an ethernet cable, connected to an ethernet to USB adapter, connected to a USB to USB-C adapter -- works, but it's clunky!
