Wind Ball - Bridgestone RX/RSX or X/XS at a higher swing speed?

SS of 115-120 and I play WINDY courses.

I understand the RX is a lower spinning ball than the X (so better in the wind?), but the RX is made for SS under 105.

Does anyone game the RX or RXS with a higher SS? Trying to avoid the ballon and having the ball knocked off line from the wind. Couldn't care less about feel or green side spin. All I care about it distance and stability in the wind.

Generally, high compression balls are better in the wind. The -V1x or Chrome Soft X LS being a it better still. The MTB-x is a very good lower cost choice.

If you’re using a 10.5 degree driver at your swing speed in windy conditions, you’re likely beyond what a ball can correct for though.

in HEAVY wind--- best ball i've ever used is the BX. my gamer is the dash V1x tho

are you hitting INTO the wind or with the wind mainly?

i can see the Chromesoft LS working well

the last version of the BXS was horrible for me in the wind but ive heard better things about the latest version

the one that works well when hitting INTO the wind is the left dash......this ball is highly under rated. if you can control it from 50 yards and in, its a great great ball....

I'm not sure judging a ball for the wind by it's spin is really the right way to do it. The Ping ball selector tool tells me that the Chromesoft X is a better ball for me in the wind than the Snell MTB-X. The MTB-X is a lower spin ball off the driver and irons. So why is that? Most likely the dimple pattern on the Chromesoft is slightly better at cutting through the wind than the one of the Snell. That's something that's going to be really hard for normal humans to test. We don't have wind tunnels. And most of us don't have an outdoor trackman setup where we can hit hundreds of shots with premium balls into the wind.

I don't think there's any argument that the CSX isn't a higher spin ball than the MTB-X. Every test has shown that.

They say the CSX is a better wind ball than the MTB-X. I can't really verify this because I don't have the equipment to do so.

My mistake. sorry, I thought the reference was to the standard ChromeSoft rather than the X. Certainly very different balls.

Ping doesn’t have a dog in the fight. They use robotic testing and the results speak for themselves. It’s not opinion, it’s factual data that they supply.
