2021 Ping vs Sigma 2, also PP60 lamkin????

Fell in love with a putter at the PGA SS , I’ve been a mallet guy forever. Grabbed the 2021 Anser 2 with the larger Lamkin PP60 and was making tons of putts. But I just can’t stomach 279 for a anser. 
Has anyone hit the 2021 against the Sigma 2? How do they compare?

I am sure the tungsten toe weighting on the 2021 makes a big difference.

 

 

also I loved the Lamkin PP60 grip but I cannot find a good photo anywhere of it. Is it a 1 off for Ping or is it a rebranded sink fit?

I felt like the insert on the sigma was not nearly as good- too soft and plastic like.

The 2021 models with the tungsten weight up by the face feel way more solid and in my opinion, puts a better roll on the ball

i played this summer with a 2021 tyne c but I've recently replaced it with a center shafted white hot pro #7 (the big headed 7) that i picked up from callaway preowned.

I hate, HATE inserts especially soft/mushy ones. The Sigma 2 has to be one of the worst feeling inserts for me I've tired, the 2021 I'd say is much more tolerable that 2 layer on the insert is much firmer than the Sigma 2 second layer.

The 2021 Anser 2 will feel slightly firmer over the Sigma 2 due to the removal of the TR grooves on the face insert, otherwise the hardness of the two-piece insert is exactly the same.

 

The Lamkin PP60 is specifically made for PING, not a rebranded existing grip.  PING was looking for an improved feel over the urethane covered PP60 but still retain the intended grip mass, Lamkin was able to deliver both using a rubber-based cover and light-weight core.

As has already been said, the 2021 will feel a bit firmer.

Just a heads up if you love the new rubber PP60 grip. It is proprietary for now to the 2021 line. The CS guy said he could see it being an option for repairs in spring but for now it will only be put on the 2021 line.

I played the original  Sigma G Kushin for several years ( just got knocked out the bag this year)

I tried the Sigma 2 and was too mushy.  It had no feel to me.  

 

The most recent one is a lot better than the Sigma 2

The ball had a great roll to it, but I had trouble with distance control.  The ball flew off the face for me.

I still like the original one the best in terms of feel off the face.

Agree on this.  Try the Sigma G with the old PP60.  Better insert than Sigma 2 and 2021, cheaper and the old PP60 is a great grip.
