Have driver prices gone insane?

And?  Same with current models.   End of the day,  prices remain comparable year over year.

What's also overwhelming is the sheer # of options/combinations with the variety of shafts and heads available.  I bought a new i20 off the clearance rack with the stock PING shaft for $199 in 2013.  It has worked great for me ever since.  I don't have any desire to go try new drivers not only because of the price, but also because I have no idea where I'd even start.  The amount of time and $ to maybe gain a few yards isn't worth it to me.  I play the same courses for the most part and they aren't getting any longer so no need to chase distance.

Like others have stated, each manufactures new products are In line with what they have been for quite some time. If you bought the latest release from any of the manufacturers over the past 8 years (new of course) you paid within 40-50 bucks of this years. 
 

With all the marketing hype that comes along with a new releases, what seems to happen is that peoples attention gets shifted toward said product. Then as always what will ensue is everyone’s debate of whether or not it’s worth it.. is it better than blah, blah....

Hoping the stock market will crash, home prices will fall and the golf used market gets flooded with $99 drivers again.

I don’t know why anyone would buy a new driver when you can pick up a mint 2-3 year old model for half the price and no performance loss.

I still play my original M1. I purchased it on clearance for $250.00. It does what its supposed to do. I put the majority of my practice and money into 120 yards in.

Stay 2 years behind.  Excess stock, like new drivers end out being about 30 cents on the dollar a couple models later.  (See Callaway / TM)
