Thank you! The groove in the sole of my Chikara Wedges are a design Carlton Masui the maker of Chikara came up with years ago when he designed wedges for Gauge Japan. The groove at it's basics is to allow you bounce when you want it and none when you don't. I've found that his wedges although they have much bounce, play in the real world with much less because of the sole grind yet do not dig at all. Super wedges..just a shame he's no longer making them. Hopefully he'll come up with something new soon.

Pics updated...added to the main bag....Tourstage 703 w/Mitsubishi Fubuki. Honma Beres 17.5 fairway that I found in a used bin but have been crushing ever since I picked it up. Old Tourstage FuT u2 that I've thrown in to keep the JDM "feel". Mizuno MP T-11 wedges. Absolutely love these. Although they feature conforming grooves, I've found that they play much more consistently for me spin wise. Also added a custom Bettinardi 2010 BB8 360 gram putter to the bag. I love the feel of the carbon head and for the first time, a 360 gram head is not too heavy for me. The balance is tremendous on it. The Bridgestone J38's with KBS shafts are still in the bag. Although I'll always be a Tourstage snob, these J38's really do remind me of my old Tourstage Viq's that I had years ago. Love the feel and the predictability of the shot's with them.

Lovin' the TS 703, Reid!

What are your thoughts on it? Fubuki Tour or Alpha? Weight and flex? I recall you having at least a little time with the 701R... how do they compare? I think the 701R could conceivably be the best driver I've ever had.

Carlo..I have a Fubuki Alpha 63 gram X Stiff at 45" in it. In my opinion it's a huge difference from the 701R..mostly in the forgiveness area where I think the 703 is one of the most forgiving drivers Tourstage has ever made. My golfing partner Bobby who has a Crazy shaft in his also agrees about the forgiveness in this head...which didn't stop him from pre-ordering the 705 though.

I personnaly love the feel of the 703. Like I've always said, Tourstage is like the Japanese Titleist when it comes to drivers. Their drivers have always had a great looks, great feel, great sound at impact and are very workable. The 703 just adds some forgiveness that I felt was not very present in their past drivers. A surprising thing that I also found in the 703 is that it's pretty long. I've never found any past Tourstage head was particularly long but this does launch pretty darn well. At the moment after having this driver for about two months now, I couldn't be happier.

My CS Fastback is not really a "rory putter" as his is more closer to center shafted. Though mine was the creation of a very talented club maker..inspired by want of a putter like Rory's.

I don't find the 701R too penal on non-center strikes... and prefer the deeper face over the 701-non-R, 901 and 703. Heel and toe shots do exhibit some distance loss which is to be expected but don't overly fade/draw and spin is still relatively low.

I've got a Fubuki Alpha 60X in an X-Drive 460 and it's a solid shaft... mid-high launch with very low spin that produces a very penetrating flight with tons of roll out... even here in the notoriously mushy Northeast.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the newest crop of TS (and other JDM drivers) have to offer.

I have been known to bring 3+ for a round depending on how many I bought that week. For awhile it was a joke amongst my friends that I had enough to use a different every day of the year. Then I surpassed that amount. I've since trimmed it much. Just today I traded 2 for 1. Thanks for looking.
