Courses near (north) Naples, FL

Possibly moving to the Naples area for a job in Bonita Springs.  Looking for information on courses and memberships that are favorable to junior golfers (11 YO Boy).

 

1.  Looking for middle schools and up that are highly rated in academics (public or private)

2. Any courses with junior only memberships? 

3. Looking for courses with great practice facilities (obviously needed for a developing juniors).

4. As an aside, any good high school golf programs in the area? Note: High school golf not important per se, but interested if there is a powerhouse team in the area.

Is that true even if you buy a home on the course? I forget which club I was looking at, but owning a home on the course included membership (plus you still had monthly required spending of about $700).

I live in SW Florida (Estero) just north of Naples. Be very careful with bundled golf communities (every homeowner is a golf member). It sounds great, but they usually utilize the Chelsea system for tee times. Since everyone has a membership, you will find it nearly impossible to get a decent tee time (especially during season). That being said, many of the private equity clubs, where the membership is limited to 275-300 members per 18 holes, allow the current homeowner to sell their equity membership with their home, so that might be an option to look for.

 

As noted above, I don't know of any equity club in our area that does not have a 2-3 year waiting list, it's really gotten crazy since the pandemic.

I've been on the waiting list at the Rookery/Hammock bay for 4 years...................

 

I played with some members at TPC Terviso one day, asked about the Chelsea system and their heads just about exploded they hate it so much.
