For anyone that has hit both:

how would you compare the Artisan FC vs the OG zx7?

I play competitively and trying to justify buying the FC over my zx7. I like the zx7 but occasionally I hit a really hot ball that carries about 12 yards too far.

im also looking at miura CB-1008 anecdotally.

I just came out of the OG Zx7 into a set of FC's. Artisans look a touch smaller to my eye but I hit them just as good if not better. Ball flight is definitely an improvement. Didnt give up much distance even with the weaker lofts but im distance control is way better. Im a lower spin iron player and I had some issues with keeping enough spin on them to keep yardages consistent. I have no complaints with my FC's and they might be the first iron that I play for a consistent period of time.

The build quality on all their products is outstanding, from putters to wedges to irons. I could tell immediately when I picked up my new Artisan product(s), they were like nothing I'd purchased before. Everything is "Tour quality". Yeah, they might be a little higher on the price scale, but that pricing includes a great fitting experience, quality build and continued support for your products like no other OEM offers. Just a great bunch of guys who are passionate about making golfers great equipment.

When you go for the fitting. ..do they do any sole grinds.. like a cut sole

Mike doesn't touch the irons like he does the wedges, because he's very happy with the final outcome on all 3 iron offerings. I'm sure if you were adamant and wanted to pay extra for it, he'd do it for you.

So I’ve really dove down the rabbit hole with Artisan. For years I’ve wanted everything they have made. Finances really kept me from pursuing it, along with really struggling with my game for a couple of years. Reading all the articles about Artisan made me want to go through their process more and more. last November I was finally able to start. Well, let me back up I guess. First I bought one of the SE putters that released around August I believe. I bought an 0220 and made a slight adjustment to the lie angle for a thought that I had. I got the putter in and loved it. But then I decided once I had the funds that I was going to get the putter fitting and see what they said. Well after 2 hours of  a fitting/lesson where I actually learned some great stuff and what I would call a top 3 golf experience, I was told I would have been fit into the exact length and head that I had already purchased and they were just going to bend it half a degree. I was fine with that!  It saved me money!  After that experience I knew I needed to be fit for their wedges. I have been playing a used set of their wedges that I had bought on eBay and I loved them but they were getting used up and I wanted their personal take. I set up the fitting 2 weeks later and went. Man, what a blast that was. Hitting sooooo many different shots. Got through with that and made my wedges with Jamie and Mike on paper. Let the 8 week wait begin!!! Well, I knew I loved the feel of the wedges and the putter and really wanted to test their irons.  My swing was slowly coming into form but I was still cautious if I was ready. More than anything, I’m not a long ball hitter and worried about their more traditional lofts being too weak. Well in early January my wife said “your birthday is in February so go ahead and book the fitting and you can get them”. I was over the moon!  I booked my fitting with Jay and was out there as soon as I could. That fitting was so much fun. Being able to hit outside and still see all my numbers on the trackman. The way the club cut through the turf. It was awesome. I got numbers I didn’t expect to get and was pleased. I made my order and waited. Well over the last two weeks I finally received my irons and my wedges and I couldn’t be more excited.

then feel of Artisan is astounding and knowing everything is built to the exact spec makes me have even more confidence standing over the ball. For reference in that statement. We took specs of my P790’s and the swing weights were off, lengths didn’t go in progression like they should and loft and lie were off on a few of the clubs. Two of the clubs were off by a full degree!!!

im not the greatest at golf, but I love it. It’s my therapy when I need it to be and I’m always striving to be better. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer.

I know this has been long winded, but I don’t think I’ll ever own another set of clubs. If you’re on the fence, just jump. You will not be disappointed

Initials on the wedges are wife and kids and mine initials on the irons

You won’t be disappointed with them. All the guys in the shop are crazy nice.  You walk in and everyone makes sure and said Hi and asks you how you’re doing. Then the fitting starts and it’s like you’re in golf heaven.

Excellent thanks. What’s the typical price per iron if I’m fit into a common shaft?

Irons start at $360/per. They give a price limit per each part of the club and anything over that you pay the difference. So just using fake numbers. If they provide you $15 per shaft and each shaft you get is $26, then you would expect to add $11 per shaft to the final bill. Same with ferrules and grips. Paint fill and stamping is free.  All together my irons were not as bad as I thought. I was OTD for $2300

all good - 15 days old and growing and learning. I have been so busy with the 2 year old that I have hardly done anything.  Golf was good to fit in and the course was awesome for February.

I have about 100 rounds with my irons and maybe 175 with my wedges and still super happy with them.   My putter has been in time out the last month or so but i am sure it will make its way back into the rotation .  Obviously it is the putters fault and not my stroke!

Do you use covers for the irons and how soft are these irons?

Funny I was just taking the wrappers off my new 55 and 60 in the garage. I have owned them since November 2022 but not needed to use them.

Loved the video - makes you just smile thinking about the Artisan experience.

The wedges look so different yet they are identical!
