I believe you have to a be resident member first and then if you move outside of 100 miles from the club you can get a national or non-resident membership

 this is incorrect. 

 

they have full, social, national and junior memberships

I have a good friend who has been a member of Sleepy for more than 50 years. We both grew up less than 5 minutes from the course. Here are links to photo tours of the course from 2008, 2013 and 2018. (Click on a photo below) It just keeps getting better. Maybe I'll do another photo album in 2023.

Great pictures. I lived in Sleepy Hollow Manor growing up. In my early teens I spent a couple Summers as a caddie at Sleepy Hollow CC. Even as a young non golfer the natural beauty of the property left an impression and got me interested in the game. Hard to believe that was over 50 years ago.

and 16th is prob the worse par 3 on the course

No photo history of the 16th at Sleepy Hollow would be complete without showing what it evolved from before the excellent restoration work performed by George Bahto and Gil Hanse.  This photo of the 16th shows what Rees Jones did 30 years ago.  I last played Sleepy Hollow in 2010, so unfortunately haven't experienced that cool thumbprint that Hanse restored, shown in the 2018 photo above.

No. #10 is the least good par 3  as it is out of character/style with the rest of the course. Note, I said "least good" because they are all quite good, just to varying degrees. I really like #16, but the reverse redan #7 is my favorite. #3 is a very difficult par 3.

100% agree.... they have a great set of par 3s.....    #7 is my fave as well....  #3 is great once you learn that the flag is not the line... its generally left of everything and let the ball feed right

Have a possible IN on Sleepy with a former employee of theirs. Do they require you to play with a member now? Or do they allow unaccompanied guests?

Well my guy offered it up before covid (didnt mention needing to play with a member) and now that were past that, and Sleepy has likely gotten tighter along with the rest of CCs post covid, i wanted to get a little knowledge before I re-engaged him.

Guests will be admitted to the Clubhouse and grounds only when introduced by a member. unless other-wise permitted, all guests must be accom- panied by their hosts. Limitations as to the number of times a guest may be introduced by a member or group of members shall be published in the Membership Handbook and the Tournament Book or posted at each sports facility. If requested, guests must identify themselves to Club staff. Guests are required to adhere to all rules and regulations of the club, and observe appropriate dress policy.

 

MISCELLANEOUS RULES AND POLICIES

No cash will be accepted from members, their families or guests for services provided by the Club. Members are to sign chits for all transactions using their signatures and membership numbers. Family members or guests are to sign their own names and the name and number of the member to be charged. Caddies are not Club employees and may be paid in cash. Pets are not permitted in the Main House or any other Club facility. unleashed dogs are not permitted on Club property. Briarcliff Manor authorities will be called to enforce ordinances regarding stray animals. Exception: Registered Service Animals. (Seeing-eye Guide Dogs, etc.).

Playing Goal this year is to qualify for the US Mid-Am to be able to play Sleepy Hollow. Gotta get the game sharp but I think its doable
