Best single strap carry?

I've been on the fence about which single strap carry bag to purchase. I am looking at the Utility Rover or Players Series 003, MacKenzie Ballistic Nylon, or the bag from Camino Golf - vintage green Sunday bag. I'm sure I can't go wrong with any of these as I am looking for a simple solution to enjoy the walk. I feel like with my Ping bag, it gets bogged down with excess equipment that I don't ever need. I just need my clubs, a towel, balls, a few tees and ball markers, and my valuables pouch. That's it. 

 

Some help is solicited here. If you can give the pros and cons to a bag you own, please do!

I have the Jones players 003 ,the heather players and the original.    Of the players I prefer the 003 just for the material. The heather is only a good summer bag when it’s dry. But the 003 is good all year because  heavy weight nylon.  Less tangle in the players due to the 2 way divider but the original strap is very comfortable. I know you just were looking at the players. So pros- very comfortable carry, easy to walk 18,the spine keeps it upright when you stand it up. Good material can be put down and not have to worry about dew or damp grass. Easy to adjust the strap for good balance. Overall excellent bag

Cons- wish there was at least 1 D ring on the bag to attach a rangefinder I just click it around the handle but a D ring would be ideal you can click it to the top ring that holds the strap but no perfect down lower that’s my only con and it’s not a big deal but nothing is perfect so that is my only con

 

overall great bag can’t go wrong with it at all and the customer service their is excellent.   That’s my 2 cents

Love my Mackenzie Sunday’s walker. Just a joy to carry, and it’s been everything I hoped it would be.
Low profile, good weight, perfect and I mean perfect fit and finish, very roomy  single pocket, top of the line materials and durable.  My only negative is the wait time but in the end it’s worth it especially with how customizable they are. I go out of my way to walk now and couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to build another.

I'm probably going to go with a Mackenzie bag. I've been eyeing them for so long just like the Miura irons I finally caved in and bought.

When I played Pebble Beach I requested a caddie.  But he wouldn't carry my single strap Titleist bag.  He switched my clubs to one of their double-strap bags.  No prob, except when we got to the 6th green I needed my wind breaker/rain jacket.  It was still back in the caddie headquarters (at Pebble I don't think they call it a caddie shack) so they sent a guy in a cart out to the 7th hole with my wind breaker.  Got there in a few minutes.

I'll be checking with places if I travel and require or request a caddie about the bag. I usually have a stand bag on hand to use for carts or if I'm in the situation you were in.

I came to this thread to try and get a few ideas as I'm heading to Pebble in December but now after your post I'm not sure what to do.

Interesting. I checked your link.

 

I went to Pebble twice. The first time I played two rounds and the caddie happily carried my single strap bag. The second time I went is when the caddie switched out to a different bag.   I Ihink it has to do with the personal choice of the caddie.  

 

Worst case scenario for you is they switch out your bag. Make sure they switch over your rain jacket. 😁

 

Great golf course, full of history, you will have a great time. 

 

Remember to wrap things up with a visit to the Tap Room in the main lodge, you won't regret it.
