Yep, that pouch area is velcro'd to the bag. And there are side slots for looping through cart straps when riding.

Ordered the 2023 4.5 14-way yesterday in the Java colorway.  Hope it looks as good in person.  Like my new C130 but it is just too bulky and I actually needed a stand at the practice green prior to playing today but was out of luck.  Have a 22 Hoofer as my stand bag and the Dritac grips just get too tangled as they are very tacky.  Hope the 4.5 solves these issues.

How you liking it so far? I am considering grabbing the ‘23 2.5 4 way. I have been in a Hoofer Lite all season but the club tangle is just a killer. The overall design is terrific, every little thing is thought of (magnetic range finder pocket would be top notch as well on the Lite), and the straps/carry are really excellent. But my clubs are heavy and I need a lighter bag now. Plus the tangle like I said. 5 lbs static weight is just too much overall weight. So I am torn between the 2.5 and a Titleist 4 Carbon.

I don't like the Titleist Carbon fwiw.  2.5+ has more room and is noticeably lighter.  The Carbon weighed 4 lbs vs 3 lbs for the 2.5+ on my scale.

That said I'm sticking with the Hoofer Lite for now.

Im not knocking the Hoofer Lite by any means. I think its a fantastic product. I really do enjoy mine.

It's pretty much perfect for what I need, but not 100% perfect.  So always trying different options

Well returned the java 4.5 LS for a red/black camo.  Like everything about the bag except how it feels on my back loaded up.  My Hoofer feels much lighter due the comfort.  I haven't found a carry bag yet as comfortable as the Hoofer/Hoofer lite.

Rarely carry, but want the ability to if the course don't let carts out etc like this time of year.  I gotta return this.  Not going to be a comfortable carry.

Anyone have issues with the stand legs kicking out and the bag falling over? Sorry to hijack this thread, but figured there are a bunch of Sun Mountain users here. I called them about the issue and they said "it's typical for the legs to side out on slick surfaces". Funny, never had an issue with my 10+ year old Ogio bag.

That is common with many stand bags.  I've seen it on Titleist bags for sure.  I don't recall it being an issue with any Sun Mountain bags I've had.  Basically, if there isn't a stop mechanism on the the front of the legs at the top of the bag then they can spread out very far and ultimately break if on a slick surface.  I've noticed Jones bags have started putting a piece of paper on the legs of new bags indicating the warranty is void if bags are stored with the legs engaged.

Oh interesting. I guess I should have just kept my old bag, as I never had an issue with it. So it doesn't sound like there is any value in returning it if it's common for most stand bags.

I think it's a non-issue as long as you're aware about it.  Just don't leave the stand engaged on a slick surface.  I wouldn't do that with any bag as it's asking for trouble.

I have a Sun Mountain 2.5 bad that has a Byron Morgan embroidery on it.  Not sure what year this is, maybe a 2019?  I really love the 2.5 bags.

I'm trying to figure out why it seems, even though the catalogue has the 4.5LS 4 way(maybe 5), the stores I have seen so far only have the 14 way.  Why do they think people only want the 14 way with that model?

I think I like the 2022 colorways better, just picked up a ‘22 Sync from Carl’s, just received it & haven’t had a chance to play yet, but I really like it so far. (Great deal too)

 

Coming from a Mizuno BR-D4 stand bag, but I never carry anymore, knees, back, etc are shot to hell from old injuries. Have a Caddytek push cart.

 

Liked the grey camo/blue one as well, but this one looks even better in person

I'm currently looking for a new cart bag and the 2023 Maverick caught my eye but I don't think I can put down $250 for a golf bag. That just seems insane to me.

I'm looking for a replacement for my 2018 Sun Mountain Sync. While everything works OK, the red/navy/white has faded (early on), turning it into a pink & gray bag.  The other main issue is that it has always been a problem twisting on my Clicgear 3.0 cart or an MGI that I had for a while. I'm tending toward getting a new Sync (2022 or 2023), Ping Traverse, or Titleist Cart 14.  I like the pocket arrangement on both the SM & Ping.

 

What are the differences between the '22 and '23 Syncs?

Are they less likely to twist on a Clicgear than the old ones?

  Are they less likely to fade (specifically Navy/Camo/Blue)?

How are the Traverses and Cart 14 on these issues?

So very interesting thing I have found.  I visited a couple PGA Tour SS and saw 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5LS 14-way, but no 4.5LS regular.  I don't know if the 14-way is more popular, if buyers think they would be more popular....  I think I would really like it if it's exactly the same as the 14-way just without the 14 dividers.  But it seems to be difficult to find.

I don't get why the stores only carry the 14 way.  Doesn't make sense to me.  The 4 way version is smaller overall than the 14 way.
