Miura CB57 vs todays irons?

I owned a set of CB57s years ago.  I loved them and what got me into Miura. Since then I’ve owned Miura wedges. MC501. MB101. Etc.   It was the drug that got me hooked.

fast forward 6-7 years. I don’t really remember them much other than I liked them.  Thinking of getting another set.

but I’m curious. How would these compare to irons of today. Say Mizuno 223, T100, etc type irons? In terms of spin, forgiveness etc.  I know there’s no “technology” per se in them with hollow designs and copper and fills etc.

I also like them a lot. All of those 1957 forgings were different than present, IMHO. I'm not saying design but the metal itself. It just seems to have a better feel to it and it's totally subjective to the operator. Anyway, I have a couple sets of heads stuck back because I'll eventually build me another MB-001/CB-57 combo.

Today's irons you cite and even the new Miura stuff are more technically evolved, but doesn't necessarily make them any better. It depends on your skill level and what you prefer. You just have to ask yourself why you got rid of the 57's in the first place.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

because I’m a club hoe and go through irons more than underwear.  Duh.

I've played the CB-57 7, 8, and 9 Iron since conception, ala 2013(ish).

The closer comparison, in terms of feel, from Miura, my opinion, would be the CB-1006. The shapes aren't the same, but the feels are. Distances and forgiveness about the same on each.

In terms of rounding out the set of CB-57s, I utilize a MCW CB-301 5 and 6 Iron. Reduced a little Offset, softened the Lofts, and they fit right in.

I just picked up a set of CB57s on BST.  4-PW.  I think I really like them. There's definitely a feel on the really well struck shots that is hard to duplicate.  It reminds me a bit of the feel of the 5 series Srixons like the 745 or 545.  But I don't have a good comparison to today's offerings.

I just recently switched into a set of cb57, coming from mb101 and T100 irons previous. For me the shape and feel is perfect, and the cavity back design and y grind sole do help some with forgiveness. I think what I like most is the offset they have and the shorter irons have a look that matches the mid irons more so than the PW. As for distance and forgiveness, slightly less forgiving than a t100 with similar distance except the long irons where the t100 would have an extra 5 yards. The one thing I did not like with T100 was my bad shots that are struck well were worse. Pin high but really far left or right where my miss with the cb57 is generally losing enough speed where it doesn’t get to far off line.
