Bushnell makes a good product (when it works), but they don't seem to care about keeping customers happy after they've already bought it. Haven't used Leuopold myself but have heard great things about them and their customer service. Nikon is also very easy to deal with. Just something to consider for a purchase that'll run you a few hundred bucks at least. If it was me, I'd want to know what to expect before making my decision.

... Ain't that the truth. I have had several Bushnell over the years and given some to friends and family when I "upgraded". V3 developed sun spots according to Bushnell and it happens when you leave your RF attached to your cart and the lens is in the sun all day. Problem was I keep mine in my case and they basically said "we don't believe you" and would not replace it. I went on their facebook page and told the tale with pictures of my case and ZIP cart and they contacted me right away with a replacement LOL. 

... I have had several that worked flawlessly but "upgraded" to some that didn't. I have a Tour V5 slope right now and it is crazy slow locking on to the flag and sometimes never does. I put in a silly low bid on Ebay for a new V5 without slope and somehow won. Last chance for Bushnell if this one doesn't lock on immediately with jolt. I think it is just insane that they make a such great product that locks on faster than any rangefinder I have seen but as you said, when it doesn't work they just don't care.

Thanks for all the info. The Pro X3 was/is in my top three. Along with Coolshot. The Coolshot was on sale earlier this year so I thought Nikon would be coming out with a newer model. Maybe not

I purchased a Cobalt Q6 with slope and I absolutely love it. Small brand with a lifetime warranty. Great product (so far) with a great case. Might be worth checking out.

I paid $450 for the model that has slope. At first I thought it was on the high end as it doesn’t have barometric pressure taken into account etc, but I have no use for that in my opinion. I wanted really good optics, reliability and a great warranty. Case is really nice as well.

Has a cart magnet and they will send you replacement batteries for free as long as you own the rangefinder

I have replaced the batteries twice already

I love my Bushnell Pro XE. I was able to find one open box at Edwin Watts for $150 less than retail and in unused condition.

 

Paying more for a rangefinder is a good idea. Ive purchased many over the years and spent a lot of money over time until I really splurged on the Pro XE. I have no plans to change it.

 

I've owned Leupold, Nikon, and a few others.

 

I wish I would have went with a top of the line model sooner.
