Yesterday at Hiddenbrooke GC in Vallejo, CA.  Making all sorts of noise but not nearly as numerous as at Boundary Oaks.

March 26th, got a new Panasonic LX10 camera .... Desert Princess G&CC, Cathedral City Ca. BTY day, 73F and warming up here while it's snowing back home.

 

 

 

Painted turtle approx 10-12" basking in California sun ....

 

 

Going .... going ....

As convenient as having a decent camera in one's phone is, I miss the days of point and shoot cameras. I used to take scenic train trips, and taking photos with a smartphone through a window was dicey. Without manual focus, many times the camera would focus on the dirt and/or bugs on the glass. Grrr. 

 

It was a beast, especially with the telephoto lens, but my Canon EOS Rebel took amazing photos. It's currently gathering dust in my storage locker, but hopefully someday soon I'll dig it out.

So far the LX10 appears to be a great point & shoot with a large zoom sensor, 20MP, 24-72 mm lens with F1.4-2.8 which is great for close-ups. As well it has a tilting flip screen that allows you to take selfies, too. The best option is it's compact & can easily fit into my golf bag. My Samsung phone just doesn't compare.
