0 vs 15 Toe Hang

Interested in the new versa double wide, but I noticed that rather than being face balanced like the previous double wide it has a 15 degree toe hang. I know it's not much but I was interested in it specifically because its a face balanced blade. Anyone use a 15 degree one before and notice any difference vs a normal face balance.

I heard that the Tri Hot 5k Double Wide double bend version is coming out. Not sure if it's gonna be 15degree toe hang as well 😆

I will use a putter with 15 or 20* but won't touch anything face balanced.  Not sure why.

It's 15 on the Callaway website. For some reason the og double wide last year was face balanced and the two coming out this year are both 15 degrees.

I have a couple face-balanced putters, as well as a couple with 15-25degrees of toe hang. I can switch between both pretty easily, it’s just a slightly different feel

 

In my experience, I feel i can swing the putter a bit more freely when it has some toe hang. While with face-balanced I have to consciously square the face at impact. Not saying one is better than the other, that’s just my experience

 

In terms of misses, I push the ball more often with no toe-hang but rarely ever pull the ball. While with some toe-hang, I’ll have some pulls but I also won’t push it nearly as often

You can take out the shaft, then reglue it and adjust the shaft and rotate it until it’s face balanced. It will change the optics slightly, but it can be done.

I used to use a face balanced putter and now I actually prefer one with 10-15 degree toe hang.  I too push a lot of my putts just right with a face balanced putter but slants necks are a bit too much movement in the swing for me

I’ve never been able to get comfortable with slant necks, but a double-bend with toe hang feels great (ie my Toulon Chicago)

Slant necks mess with the way I see the ball at address, seems like it covers up just enough of the ball that I can’t get used to it.. wish I could though because I’ve tried 3 now and love the look just can’t do it once I get over the ball

Everyone will be different so may have to be something you need to test out. I'm pretty comfortable using anything from 10-60° of toe hang but face balanced or toe down I can't get comfortable with for some reason.

The SC Select Flowback 5 appears to be face balanced mallet but has a small amount of arc. The Toe Hang on the Flowback 5 is 16.5 degrees whereas the 5.5 model is 45 degrees.

I struggle with face balance and upright putters. I tend to pull putts with face balance because that type of putter slows face rotation when I take the putter back.
 

If the putter is upright, I tend to take outside going back.

Ended up comparing the versa double wide to the og and it looks like the toe hang is the same. The og was marked at 0 even though it's technically not.
