Look at how damn large the bumpers were on cars of that era. Those would take an entire bottle of chrome cleaner to shine up. It's cool that the companies even found ways to style those honkers.

I've never been a fan of red interiors. I'd take mine with silver inside.

Year make and model please MIA.

And check out the mounts for the side view mirrors. Not the most stylish, but probably more practical.

Well another early morning, temp was 56* when I tee’d off at 7:00 this morning.  This is the first of 3 rounds this weekend so the recap will be brief.  It was also the first round with the new sticks.  Yesterday at the range I tried something and seemed to work, I was hoping to get a good warm up in but whoever had the opening shift this morning didn’t show up so it was right to the tee.

Front 9:

The first four holes were a little up and down, then my nemesis hole bit me again.  Staring right into the sun, I couldn’t even come close to seeing my drive, contact wasn’t great so that was a lost ball and a snowman (8).  The next 5 holes I played bogey golf, which I’m fine with at this point.  Had a few good recovery shots.  On the par 3 8th I had a 3 putt.  I should have hit an 8i, but took more club, put it on the green in the wrong spot.  In total I had 16 putts.

Back 9:

I was hoping my bogey golf would continue.  On the 10th, my drive stayed in the FW by about an inch, approach wasn’t great, came up short of the green.  I left my self about 30 yards to the hole, hit a 58* wedge and made the chip.  Birdie!  First of the comeback.  Rest was bogey golf until 16 & 17, where I made par.  On 14 & 18, I 3 putted both, I just left myself In absolutely the wrong spot.  Overall had 16 putts.  So today was another 6 shot improvement than my last round.

Ye be a dew sweeper aye Big Fish?

56* must have felt heavenly.

Congrats on the chip in bird.

Nice looking course conditions. Healthy green colors.

Keep the recaps coming. You've got us interested in your progress.

Again, welcome back to the game.

Yikes I didn't notice that the mirrors were still fender mounted on that car.

This is kinda ironic bcs jus yesterday I was thinking after reading the ‘been to a concert lately’ thread that like 90%+ of the concerts 19th holers attend are bands that were big in the 60s and 70s and now they are just cashing checks with some iteration of what they were. About one step above seeing a tribute band IMHO. Just an observation, I get why… and now back to your regularly scheduled program 😊

Chances are, we saw them when they “were good.” As well, but it was lately.

Did you watch? I am impressed by you folks who watch TV.  I drank all day, shot an even par round and maxed out the opponents.  I have been home for an hour and the Mrs has yet to ask how I played.

Well ya see P3P ... some of us have to work still. 😉

Though, I - of course - work from home. In this messy little nerd den ... with a TV over my workstation ...

This has been a stupid busy week for me. I've been working on a big new feature for a couple months and this week has been tying up the last few details. Been more than a few late nights but all's looking good to launch next week.

On a normal Friday, I'd be at the range or playing 9 at Aliante right now. But there's a little bit of a HUGE FREAKIN STORM going on. Maybe it'll soften up Paiute's greens tomorrow 😂

Heading to your hometown for full on debauchery in a few weeks (9/15-18) then back in October for U2.  My wife doesn’t know she might meet a golf nerd, but I can see it happening.  And work sucks.

Real men real steel AMERICAN built cars. Look at all the  real steel in the spectator parking lot. And my flag the stars and bars was proudly flying. That was the year that the hemi engines ran off and left everyone. The Firecracker 400 was always ran on the 4th of July no matter what day of the week it fell on. The Southern 500 at Darlington was always ran on Labor Day Monday because back then they still had Blue Laws in SC. And the Stars and Bars flew proudly there too. Now days meeh-- The Firecracker is ran later on this year at Daytona and the Southern 500 is on Sunday night of all things and NASCAR now prohibits the flag from flying at events. For Christ sake they even cleaned up the saying about Darlington Raceway it used to be "The Lady in Black" now it is a more sedate "track too tough to tame" which is true-- They are even running it at night I guess the fruit in beer crowd can not take the SC Labor Day heat. Ok I will stop rant over

It is true Big Stu.

Let's hope at beach bars all over this country for the rest of the weekend there is lots of Jimmy Buffet music being played to honor him.

RIP Jimmy

My favorite song of his.

Going to live concerts has gotten really expensive.

I had two friends see G n R in Charlotte on Tuesday night and their tickets cost $700 a piece.

I went to this show back in my DC days and look what it I paid for a show that featured two of the biggest name groups of the time. Crazy.

I remember paying $7.50 for a lot of big names back in the late 70's.  Tix could be bought at record stores and head shops.

You are correct Bob Cat, I had forgotten that is where we got our concert tickets back then. Did you ever camp out overnight to make sure you got good seats for a band you especially wanted to see?

In St. Louis we had Peaches

In the DC area we had Penguin Feather
