What styles specs do you typically use? I dont have an aggressice forward press, more speith-like.

do you usually get a degree or two of extra loft on the putter? Blade or mallet?

i know one size doesnt fit all. But i dont have a reliable putter fitter close by so i am looking at trying a couple blind.

This is where a putter fitting would be useful. Get  some digital feedback on angles, making sure you avoid skidding, etc.

I'm odd I play 1-2° of loft and have a small forward press. I also play the ball forward in my stance due to dominant eye. Sounds like it wouldn't work but Quintic says it does. Just have to be careful with the amount I do press.

Do you address the ball with your hands further back than most?  I guess either that or you add some loft somewhere in the stroke.

Perfect example why you need to test or get fit.  Reducing the  loft to 1 degree of loft is producing the roll you want when conventional wisdom would say to add loft to 4 or 5 degrees.  Obviously, that would be very detrimental to your putting.  That should answer op’s question right there.  You never know until you try.

How is the roll you are currently getting?  I assume there is something you would like to improve or we probably wouldn’t be discussing it.  If a fitting is not in the cards try to figure out if you are not getting a good roll because the ball is being hit down on or because it’s being hit up on.  adjust accordingly and continue to test.  Use a line on the ball and if it isn’t rolling nice and tight check your stroke and possibly lie angle.

You could always use a cheap putter, a small digital level, a vice and a hammer/mallet to play around with different lofts and see what produces the best roll.  I don’t think I need to explain the reasons not to do this with your gamer lol.

So for me ball is forward where my lead eye is over the ball or just behind, I'll set the putter behind the ball and have the shaft basically in line with my belly button. I'll do a little forward press to where the shaft is in line with my lead eye and pull the trigger. So in a weird and messed up way I add loft at setup, reduce loft on the forward press but based on impact location I'm adding loft again.

It's weird, it works, I can tell on the greens if my setup is off or I'm pressing too much, etc.

To the OP, NP2 4\71 Mid slant. 35 in. thin grip and a slight forward press (trigger) using standard reverse over lap. This is what works for me.

Obviously a fitting would get you there but if your none analytical just focus on your speed. With getting the speed right your aim gets better and putts start dropping.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
