Hi, Guys

nice to meet you. I am a beginner golfer and i am living in South Korea.

Last week I bought some Ping old putter it seems like Eye2 BeCu putter.

but I think the quality and  state of the putter are so much good than I was expected.

So, I wanted to know whether it is real of fake?

is there anyone who can find out that it is real or fake?

It's real. Looks like New Old Stock.  This one is somewhat rare, especially in the condition it's in. Good stuff!

My vote is that the putter is not real.  Ping hasn't made BECU putters since about the mid 1990's (my estimate).  Just looking at the face decal, it doesn't appear to have that much age.  Also Ping hasn't used (to my knowledge) the Eye logo shown in the cavity for many years prior to canceling the BECU models.  I am the original owner of a copper Anser 2 putter (see photos) and looking at the grain of the metal my putter seems to have a smoother texture in comparison.  Every Anser model I've seen has the model name on the heel and toe weights (refer to my photos). If my memory is correct the putter shown is an Anser 3 or Anser 4 where there is a short hosel and the shaft enters over the metal. I can't recall ever seeing the toe notch on your putter either.  It appears to be the reverse of mine.  If it is an original Ping then you have my apology.

Really? OMG I will give you this putter to my son as my heritage!!! is there any fake one of eye2 putter in the world??

Definitely, pass that down to your son to be cherished!

And share that with the Old School Ping group on Facebook. Lots of enthusiasts there would appreciate it and could even give you some more information on the Eye 2 Putter if you wish.

I agree with your opinion about the face decal of the putter. if you look the picture below you can see the decal is different from my eye2 putter.

it has much deeper color and I can feel the discoloration caused by age. that's why i am asking and curious whether it is real or fake... as your opinion

1362444343_Eye2BeCuputterexample.jpg.fbbc74ac8bd7ba7317dc28268b6955b6.jpg

but one thing really clear is there is BeCu Eye2 putter in Ping's history. and BeCu eye2 putter is very rare item among the BeCu Ping's putter.

I found some list in this community please check if you have time.

thanks for sharing your opinion! the seller who sold this putter to me said he imported this putter from Japan

Does this putter have a shaft label that has green lettering and may be a green Ping Man logo. These labels were put on by Ping to indicate they were Japan/Asian models. Nice putter.

Keep that Ping Eye2 decal on the face.

Your Eye 2 is genuine.  It is lighter than the other picture because it is either very lightly used or unused so the metal hasn't oxidised/darkened over time.

Not only is it real, but the Eye 2 is by far the rarest of the models Ping made in beryllium copper in the late 80s and 1990s.  Great find!

I'd have to agree that the putter looks to be BeCu. I don't know that they ever made an Eye 2 in Manganese Bronze... but, I'm no expert.

Overall, I'd just like to thank the OP and WRX community for taking me on a journey through obscure Ping putters.

Hard to believe they had the sk5 setup on so many models.

Based on grain size and patina it appears to be MgBr, not BeCu.

The Eye 2 was only made in BeCu, stainless steel, and SS with a black oxide finish - no MgBr.  That's definitely a new BeCu one, prior to the patina which happens through use.

Yes that is it. A Japan/Asian Market putter. Ping may only have made this model from copper to he Asian Market. A true JDM. You may want to reconsider using in since it appears to be a new old stock (NOS) putter because it could be worth some decent money to a collector.

Did you buy any other Ping putters with green labels on from this source?

You obviously can use the putter. My comment may have been unfair to you the owner. For me, the amateur collector in me would display it and not use it. That decal on the face is awesome! The EYE was a big marketing symbol for Ping and that putter sure would look good with my set of Ping Eye 2 BeCu iron set.

No ozing2, I like your putter. I think it could be worth quite a bit.

I know you are new, but you need to know that this forum topic is not a For Sale forum. That is what direct PM or private messaging is for.

I will PM you now.
