Loving it, after the firmware updates the X5 works perfectly on the course. Worked a little tap of the butt of the club to the watch in my preshot routine, to ensure detection. I do this while staring at the horizon, helps to enter a zen mode as well ;-).

The only problem I experience is that it doesn't always connect to my phone via bluetooth the first try. My phone has to search 3 or 4 times to connect correctly. Can be a OnePlus 9pro x 5 issue, but still a bit annoying.

I saw the new (I think) X5 at the PGA show and keep waiting to see if that comes out soon.  Who know when though? Don’t want to miss all season waiting.    Kinda want to get this, even though I have an Apple Watch Untra2 I don’t want to have to scan every time.  If the X5 does a good enough job sensing the correct club, I may just go with that.

Is there a new X5? Not just the X5?

Well I’m not sure what the new model is. It may be a refreshed X5 or something new.  Looked like a X5 to me tho.

I don't tap the watch band with the tag, and I usually only take one practice swing (sometimes not even one), though two practice swings are recommended. The only time I have a shot fail to be recognized is when I choke down on small shots around the green before the tag has been sensed.

This is the worst golf tracking tool I've used.

I tried twice on two occasions at two different courses.

The app on my android phone wasn't able to detect any of the RFID tags attached to my clubs including the following: Driver,  3 Wood & 7 Hybrid.

I tried restarting the app but nothing changed.

Lifetime winning percentage (golf league): 17% (5 out of 30 tournaments over 3 years)

Driver: Ping G410, 10.5° w/ stiff 46.25" shaft, JumboMax JMX Ultralite XL grip; modified CG weight

3 Wood: Callaway,  ST Max Fairway Wood, 15.0°, Stiff, Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 65 Graphite 43.25" shaft, JumboMax JMX Ultralite L grip

Utility Wood: Cleveland, 18.0°, Launcher Halo Hy-Wood 3+; 41.5" shaft length; modified CG weight

4 to 8 Irons: Callaway Rogue X 4 iron, graphite shaft, stiff, +.5" shaft length; modified CG weight; 9 Iron: Callaway Rogue X 9 iron, graphite shaft, stiff, +.5" shaft length

Pitching Wedge: Callaway Rogue, 44°, graphite shaft, stiff, +.5" shaft length
Approach Wedge: Callaway Rogue, 49°, graphite shaft, stiff, +.5" shaft length

Sand Wedge: Titleist, Vokey SM7, 56°
Lob Wedge: Taylor Made full face - raw finish, 60°; Putter: Tour Edge Wingman, modified pistol grip, armlock modified 41.5" extended shaft, added center weight.

Do you have the X5 watch?

The app does not track the tags, the watch does.

Maybe you have the other product that uses an app to tag. I think its called the connex.

Yes, I used the Connex app based on the QR code from the box containing the RFID tags to install it on my android phone.

This company, Shot Scope Technologies Ltd., doesn't even have a live phone support available which I think is crucial in making our breaking this product.

I guess it was just a big waste of my time to try this tool.

Love mine, the shot tracking and stats database/breakdown is invaluable, has helped me a ton to identify actual gapping issues in my bag with real course data.

Quick question, short of removing the band and installing it the other way is there a way to flip the screen so the buttons are towards your elbow instead of your wrist?

Any long-term reviews on the X5? I know the initial feedback was mixed, but it still seems like the best value in shot-tracking GPS watches. I currently use my Apple Watch and it works well, but I am interested in the shot data.

It seems like if you do the factory reset on the X5 most of any issues have disappeared.  I haven’t really started my Arccos journey yet.  Just for all sensors installed and playing first round this weekend with Apple Watch Ultra.  But if it doesn’t impress me, I will go with the X5.

I've had mine since they offered the upgrade to existing customers and have generally been very happy with it.

**I got this specifically for the shot tracking data, I'm very much a straightforward front/middle/back distance user as far as this technology goes and in that regard I use it for my distances and have found it to be accurate and easily usable, that said I'm not scrolling into different screens etc on course: I have my phone or Garmin G80 if I need to worry about distances to hazards/specific carry numbers at courses away from my home track, so I'm probably not using the FULL functionality of it but that's ok.

Quick thoughts:

- Battery life is excellent, the charging cord is proprietary and dumb but they all are

- Screen is easily readable

- It tends to be ready to go fairly quickly, but not instantaneously

- Unlocking the screen is tedious and usually takes multiple attempts (it uses a dumb swipe up motion that's very finicky)

- The strap is on backwards from typical watches in terms of where you'd expect the buckle to be, etc - this makes putting it on tedious, I could probably just remove the straps and reverse them but I haven't done that yet

- I'd like for there to be a feature that allows you to flip the screen so the buttons don't sit by your wrist (if you're not paying attention you can press them inadvertently, not a major issue but something to be aware of)

- Strap is very comfortable

- This picks up the club I'm using MUCH faster than my prior V3 did, the tags are slightly bigger but nothing noticeable

- Using Pin collect is really pretty intuitive on putting, and if you forget the editing feature makes it easy to correct after the fact

Editing your rounds on a laptop via the Shot Scope Dashboard is really pretty simple and straight forward, the statistical break downs, strokes gained, overall analysis are really impressive for what essentially amounts to no extra work on your end.

All in all I love it, the statistical tracking is worth every cent and the fact it functions well as a GPS watch is a bonus to me. Would absolutely buy again.

Had my X5 since last year. It has had issues connecting to the app a lot since last summer. Does anyone know if I turn the watch off before getting a round synched, will I lose that info? Thanks

- The strap is on backwards from typical watches in terms of where you'd expect the buckle to be, etc Has to be so the band with the antenna and that is closest to the tag is unobstructed. - this makes putting it on tedious, I could probably just remove the straps and reverse them but I haven't done that yet You cannot reverse the straps as there is an electrical connection on the side with the antenna, the side of the band that connects to the top of the watch.

You will not lose or remove around from the watch until you synch it with the app. You could turn it off, recharge, play another round or more, and they will all be there.

For connectivity issues, sign out (don't just close) the app, delete it and download it again. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and "Forget" the X5. Then sign back into the app and pair the X5 through the app, not through the phones' Bluetooth settings.

Appreciate it. It's getting to the point I have to forget the X5 and repair it after every round

From everything I’ve read when people do a factory reset it fixes almost all of their problems

Shot Scope just announced a new model - the V5. Same watch as X5 with buttons only instead of a touchscreen for $250. Seems like another good option.
