Fake Golfpride MCC grips (pics)

What are your thoughts on this, the problems with this set include the pebble pattern and the weight of the grips and the exit air hole.

 

Weight should be 59-60g for midsize

Air hole should be a clean punch, these are not even fully knocked out

yes they have real nice plastic butt cap wrappers

I’m not an expert in fake grips, but no way should they be 10g heavy. That’s a huge red flag. 2-3g variance at MOST.

I can usually spot the fake with the cord pattern. Oddly enough, the fake have more cord and a courser texture from my experiences.

Look off for sure.  Where did you buy, and were they a 'good deal'?  It's hard to find legit MCC grips on sale.

Having worked in the curing of rubber, fakes tend to stink like hell.

These smell fine which was surprising and on the inside of the grip has raised lettering saying golfpride 60, that and the plastic wrap on the butts and lack of smell made these decent fakes.  But the air holes are a dead giveaway, they need to be absolutely perfect, it seems all fakes have some type of issue such as a stamp from the punch or not punched through completely or cleanly.  the factory either does not punch or they punch so well that u cannot tell if it was injection molded or punched.

I can spot the fakes ones, if you buy them online and can grab them for less than $5 dollars a piece, you know what you are buying.

Used fake MCC plus4 for years. Same as the real thing, just a fraction of the cost. I don't condone it, but if they're available then I am buying them and putting the saving into my children's savings accounts.

A guy I played with had fake MCCs and I felt them. They actually felt like they had MORE cord than my real ones (hope mine were real at least since I paid $12/grip through PGASS for them!). Not sure how they held up over time but my real deal ones haven’t held up real great.
