Tough course. For a few years many of us were complaining about the birdiefest setups, but lately they've visited a number of courses with fangs. Cut at +2 and 11 pros missing the cut with double digit over par scores for two rounds? Doesn't happen that often.

Sometimes that when mic which is often w/in 6ft of the player doesnt p/u the hit.

However, some player hits are rl soft not cracks when player get turf 1st or hits a bit fat. Noticed a few players esp ajga jrs hitting rl down and digging yet making rl low hit sound.

The Golf Channel broadcast schedule is weird today. 

 

Minjee will tee off in twosome at 2:30 PM and her round will finish by 6:30 PM; yet the broadcast is scheduled for 5:00 - 8:00 PM.  I hope it isn't tape delayed.

Minjee leading after R2 is a pleasant surprise. 

 

 

Not sure if she can sustain her putting  however - I always like to do a "Round vs Round variance" quick analysis based on how much a player can replicate her putting.  Seems like she'll give up 2-3 strokes today at the very least (eg won't sink those 20 footers again)

 

Still long ways to go.  Fun day today watching PGA (Memorial) and LPGA  golf (though LPGA is tape-delayed, as you guys surmised)

I hate to see the inevitable collapse of Sung Hyun Park. It's always the same story. She makes the cut, even scores a couple of birdies on the first holes and then collapses  - a couple of bogies and then a triple on the 9th. Always the same. So sad - she was a great player and wonderful to look at in her prime.

The pairings are twosome for the pros but there is a junior with every group to make it a threesome.  Minjee will finish her round between 7:30 and 8:00 PM.

Everything was delayed for fri finishers +1hr delay between fri/sat round.

Rose tied for the lead. It would be great for lpga if she won and it would be crazy winning first time out. Do others come to mind that did that?  I know grace kim won earlier this year but she was already a pro. Still though I can only think of her as winning first time playing a lpga tournament.

I don't think it was her first LPGA tournament, but Lydia winning the 2012 Canadian Open as an 15 year old amateur was pretty crazy. Winning it again the following year as an amateur was unheard of. 

 

Jin Young won the ISPS Handa in her first LPGA start.

I know she has a reputation, but Carlotta Ciganda's pre-shot routine is absurd. It's possible that she was waiting for the green to clear, but the Golf Channel just showed the full thing on her tee shot and it was glacial.

yep I miss her too and still follow her closely. What a player she was

 

seems to be always teeing it up so not giving up but I wonder when she starts running out of opportunities and just goes back to the KLPGA
