I would say a lot.  I don’t think the average joe that gets out for a weekend round is talking about Rickie, Keegan, or Wyndham’s recent putting stats nor do they attribute their victories to it.  They are more likely to buy the  apparel or driver

Winning with JB's but once you look at the data, you can see it's not directly attributed to the putter. It plays a part, but it's not the shining star.

 

Not saying it isn't a great putter and that these guys aren't putting well, but you are trying to make statements of causation, where the data does not support this, at least not for Rickie and probably not for anybody in the grand scheme.

 

Mr Clark finished T29 after the US Open and his SG putting was 29th, with the same putter that he was top3 in SG putting the week before.

 

Want to guess what Keegan's rank was for SG approach that week when he won? Get Ready - *Surprised Pikachu face* - FIRST. Following week he finished T21.

 

Finally, before I go on my merry way - the top 5 putters on tour have combined for a total of approximately 0 wins this season.

 

On the other hand.... top 5 in approach have won 6 times this season. Weird...

 

I'm saying all these facts, and yet I still am building a similar putter because I'm curious what it will net me. Do I think I'm suddenly going to be prepping for Q School next month after I shoot back to back 64's because my heavy counter balanced putter has my draining everything I look at? No. There is no magic bullet. Being a fantastic iron player is more important than putting, and until the data proves otherwise, that is my stance.

He's doing decently with putting; he's currently 30th in sg18 but currently 7th in sg approach and 17th around the green. So his wins are more closely attributed to his iron and wedge play compared to putting.

If he changes putters after his first win in four years then he might as well become a WRXer

I was told that the SS grip being completely backordered is a lot of the reason why we are not seeing this putter until fall.  Not sure of the validity of that but it does look like this grip is sold out everywhere.
