My trip is almost here (7.5 weeks) and we are all excited for it! Just trying to get some info to pass on to the guys as far as weather is concerned for that time of the year. Heat? Humidity? Wind? Anything anyone can provide is appreciated.

End of August is typically warm in Wisconsin. Depending where you are there can be a decent amount of humidity as well, especially away from Lake Michigan.

AccuWeather monthly forecast would be good to keep an eye on.

5 of the 6 of us are coming from Arizona where the last few weeks 105-110 has been the norm. Heat is never the issue. That “humidity” crap y’all have is something else though!

That’s the truth! I’ll welcome the humidity though because golf lately has been brutal when your skin is burning and it never feels like you can drink enough water. I’ll just be happy to not be playing desert golf courses. Wisconsin feels like my 2nd home for golf. This will be the 3rd year in a row that I have gone there to play and I love it more and more every time!

Welcome back!  Not much to add, 80's would be the norm, 90's always possible.  Humidity and/or a thunderstorm wouldn't be a surprise.  Personally, I find walking 18 at 95* in Arizona easier than 85* and humid in Wisconsin, but hey, we chose an outdoor sport!😂

Safe travels and enjoy!

If you need a grinder to make your weld look good, you are a grinder not a welder.

We are coming to WI and MI next year but in September. What's it like then? A little cooler I imagine but still humid?

You can get a stray 80 something day.  The same with humidity, but the later in the month the probability of both declines quickly.  The second half of September is generally epically beautiful and the first half is pretty sweet.

In preparation for the metric f-ton of golf that will be happening in a few months, I decided to walk carry the other day. Fairly flat course with some elevation. And it was 110 according to my watch. Needless the say even after what seemed like 2 gallons of water that I drank I still couldn’t go pee. Heat exhaustion is very real out here lol.

These thunderstorms that have potential…..are they quick or lasting?

They are not like Florida where it storms for an hour and then gone.  You will see them coming 24-48 hours in advance as they roll in from the Dakotas and Iowa.  Rarely last for a full day, but an afternoon is not out of the question.  Wish I could do better.

So the weather forecast is pretty good a couple of days out? Any recommendations on walking next week? Playing Erin Hills and Straits..

Wisconsin and Michigan are some of my favorite summer getaways.  Great courses and summer weather.

  • 4 weeks later...

Wisconsin end of August is usually pretty solid in the Mid 80's mostly dry this time of year. It's been super dry this year and somewhat cooler than normal summer temps. We got our asses handed to with the Canadian wildfire smoke for what felt like months. Sunset starts dropping around 7:00 starting Labor day to 6:30ish by end of September.

I'd put Sept in WI against anywhere else climate wise. Highs in the mid 70s and Lows in the mid/lower 50's, cool breeze.
