AMERICAN FLATSTICKS - DO NOT ORDER

Well I started a thread previously about my experience with this vendor and it seems as if others have had the same issues. Long story short, I ordered a headcover in May, never received it, and tried to follow-up with the company. I had little to no success and opened a dispute with my credit card company in June.

I did eventually receive a follow-up from the company in June to state there was a "delay." At that point I asked them for a refund to which they stated it was already credited and they would cancel. I did not receive a credit, I did not receive a tracking number, so I left my dispute open.

In July I was notified by my credit card company that the vendor stated the item was shipped and the temporary refund was being cancelled. American Flatsticks never provided a tracking number, and now I need to send in all the supporting documentation to keep the dispute open. I have no doubt I will eventually win the dispute, but what a headache.

From my interactions, I have no problem saying this is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Do not make the same mistake as me!

The website is very half baked. There’s no About page. No phone number. The only address is on the Terms page and it’s a Postal Annex mailbox.

wouldn’t buy from them.

Fair enough. I’ve seen some of their stuff in second hand markets and liked the designs. Not a huge expenditure and I’m sure I’ll eventually win the dispute, but this company is pretty shady and if I can save someone else a headache that’s my goal.

Just my guess is they started off as a real company then began spending money they didn’t have. Bad business and fraud are two very different things, but they better be careful because it seems like they’re heading towards the latter. Lying to credit card companies is not wise.

I ordered a towel from them a while back, no issues at all. Sad to see they took a turn for the worst. I won't be ordering them again based on your experience.

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sh*t happens, but lying to a credit card company about a transaction dispute is straight up fraud. What's going on here is beyond shady, and starts to look criminal. I thought this deserved its own thread for the benefit of others.

CITI finally approved my dispute, over two months after my original order. Something is very wrong with this company to challenge a black and white clear cut credit card dispute like I submitted. Document everything, save everything. It matters when dealing with a company like this.

I definitely do not recommend ordering from American Flatsticks. I ordered a custom golf bag for $800 and after many months of getting the run around, they stopped answering my emails. Lesson learned and I hope I can save someone else the trouble and money!!

Sorry to hear you didn’t happen upon this before trying to order. Hopefully you can do a dispute with your credit card company OR you eventually do get the bag. For 800 bones that must be one helluva bag- post pics of the mock-up or final product if it ever comes in.
