Is it possible to modify the PING Hoofer 5-way top?

I love the 4-way top of the Hoofer Lite but I like the overall looks of the standard Hoofer better. However, the 5-way top (in my opinion) is a downgrade from the Lite's 4-way top, especially considering the top divider that is split into two sections on the Hoofer has no length divider in it. So it's split into 5-ways at the top plastic, but the two club slots at the top are still completely open. Why it's not just a 4-way boggles my mind.

So, my question is whether it's possible to just cut out or remove that top piece and modify the standard Hoofer into the 4-way top it should've been?

If it's easy enough, yes. I like the PING bags quite a lot. I may just end up buying the Hoofer Lite even though I like the Hoofer more. But if it's something simple like you can remove the fabric and unscrew that section, then I'm up for it. Why not?

Although I’ve never done it myself, I’ve often thought of doing the very same thing. A small hacksaw will do the trick. I say why not, go for it.

It's kinda part of the structural integrity of the bag and may not stand up. Then again it's your bag and do as you please.

I just know cause I got burned on a Hoofer bag trade here way back. I forget what exactly was broken but when I deployed the legs the bag would twist and fall over. Contacted Ping and they said unfortunately I was SOL since I bought the bag privately and they don't supply replacement parts for bag outside of maybe straps and pocket zippers.

Not with the Ping but I've done that a few times. Making 4 slots out of 5. Just remove the material a little, cut out the piece you don't want, put the material back again. It's a 5 minute job. Made no difference in the support of the clubs or the bag.

afaik with the ping hoofer, you can take the plastic divider out if you un-velcro the velcro tabs, as you would if you were taking the straps out. But I don't know if it's replaceable with a different divider

I almost thought my hoofer was totally broken, when the plastic spine bit kept coming out of the holder at the top, but after disassembling the top bit of the dividers I found out there was a slot at the bottom of the bag in which the plastic spine wasn't going into, hence it kept popping out of place. After that, I realized how great the hoofer is, it's like everything has been thought of when it comes to golf bags.

Is that basically ordering a custom bag from PING? I Google searched it and didn't really find anything other than it being exclusive to teams and such.
