Definitely agree with it. He gets the pace right and it looks like the putts run on the desired line - he just reads it wrong.

Pretty sure it was just a PVD coated KBS shaft. I don't recall them being that expensive when I bought it a year or so ago.

Yeah like $90 for the smoke black, $29.99 plus $30 for smoke black, plus another $30 for .390 tip for 5.5. Said they use True Temper and KBS but no indication if they're stepless

Mine is definitely stepless. I paid $50 in April of 22 for the smoke black.

I don’t think the issue is the putter, it’s the puttee. Every golfer has a weakness and Mcilroys is putting.

After this thread and watching the coverage this week, I have to agree with those that think it is his green reading that is the true issue. I think he is hitting his line, but the putts just break more or less than he thought. The telling putt was one on Thursday when the camera was directly behind his putt and he had is line on the ball showing an inside left edge intended line and the putt broke at least a cup and a half form 8-10 feet. That is a HUGE mis-read from that distance.
