When you see your equipment junky self in today's yoots

I've had a few driver shafts listed on Facebook for a few weeks. Last night I got a desperate message from a younger guy who lives five hours away but was coming here for a weekend golf trip. "Can I grab that shaft at 8 in the morning? I've got a 10:10am tee time. I won't be in your area til 1:30am." 

 

Sure enough the guy drives up this morning right on time. He'd bought a new Paradym head for the trip and didn't realize his Titleist shaft wouldn't pop right in. I showed him how to set the Callaway adapter, he sent me some Venmo and he was on his way. 

My wife said "Good lord. Looks like there are more you's in the pipeline."

 

It warms my shriveled 54-year old heart to see the yoots of today falling for the same degenerate club trading behavior I've always engaged in.

 

Swing well, Graham. I hope you don't feel your slices today are my fault.

Sort of related, one of the guys I was playing with at Sand Valley a couple weeks ago broke his driver shaft mid-round. They still had a couple days left on their trip.

 

Total validation of my approach of always bringing a spare driver shaft with me when I travel.
