A question about Premier fit?

I seem to be between sizes in FootJoy Premiers. The 10m felt tight across the front of my foot. The 10.5 fit well in the front, but there was a lot of heel slippage. Has anyone else had the same issues, and is 10W the solution? The store didn’t have any wides, so I couldn’t try any.

The 10M felt a bit tight across the front of my foot, but loosed up a bit after about half a round.  Not sure how tight yours felt, but possible that they may become a bit looser after wearing.

They will mold/stretch a bit with use, just make sure your toes don't get crushed like mine.

I "fit" 10, 10W, 9.5XW. I went with 10W. The heel wasnt super snug, but slip resolved once the shoe broke in and flex appropriately. The heel still doesnt feel locked in (feels a touch wide) but it doesnt slip.

 

Forefoot is just enough room for me. I think these have a weird shape... narrowed taper front and wide heel. Weird move by FJ.

The Tradition fits better. I guess the Premier isn’t for me.

The new last that FJ built the premiers on are 1/2 size big and 1 width more narrow than the previous last of Dryjoys.

In DryJOys Tour  (my last shoes before Premieres) I am an 11 XW.  I have been an 11XW  (for best fit) in Footjoys for years.  In the Premieres, I am still an 11 but the the width is a bit more narrow (I can pull off an XW without discomfort but a XXW would be perfect).  I have heard others with the same fit issue as you  (having to bump up a half-size).

Yeah, I was the same. I wore 9XW in Dryjoys for almost 3 decades. I can’t even get my foot into a 9XW in Premiers. If FJ would just bring back the Dryjoys Tour as a Myjoys only option I think they would sell a bunch.

I’ve had 10W and 10.5M in the premiers. The 10W fit better out of the box but ended up being too loose after a couple rounds. 10.5M fit me better in the long run.

I wear an 11.5 in almost every athletic shoe I've ever purchased. I really, really wanted a pair of Premiers, and I tried every size between 10 and 11.5 in narrow, regular, and wide. Couldn't ever find a fit that didn't make me nervous I'd have blisters for weeks and weeks. Ended up with a pair of Pro SL Carbon's in 10.5 that fit well so far. A little snug on the forefoot, but no heel slip. I can already feel the forefoot breaking in some on them. 

 

I'm convinced the Premiers just don't work for the majority of people. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the FJ Fit Lab will make the rounds, and I can see what size they think I need.

im an 11.5 in most shoes.  Was in between 10.5, 10.5 wide and 11 on the packards and ended up returning all because they didn't feel quite right.

 

interestingly, the spiked fields in 10.5 feel great.  They feel wider to me than the same size in the packards

I'm usually between an 11 and 11.5 athletic shoes, and a size 11 in Adidas golf shoes, which is what I've normally worn for the past decade.  FJ Premier in 10.5 M fits me just right.  11 was too loose for me, and the 10.5 was perfect.  They size like a more comfortable dress shoe for me.

I understood that Premiers ran a little large and ordered 8 1/2M as opposed to the 9M that I usually wore in Adidas. At first I thought they were too tight but I wore them a couple of times and used wooden shoe trees. Now I think they are the most comfortable shoes that I have owned fir some time. I recently ordered my third par - all black for fall golf with long pants.
