Has anyone demoed both? Got really good #'s with the Aerojet LS, wondering if last years model can get similar performance for less money.

Absolutely - the LTDX LS is as good of a head as the Aerojet LS.  Aerojet looks better which is why I went with it and I was hoping for less fade bias out of the Aerojet LS which wasn't the case.  I launched the LTDX head higher than the aerojet but that won't be true for anyone but me and my swing.

Ended up in the standard aerojet head after fighting consistency with the LS for a year and the standard will be in my bag for years.

I think you’ll be happy with your decision. I’ve been thinking myself about going back to get LTDx. I haven’t found anything in this years offerings out there from any manufacturer that outperformed it.

It was 20 yards further than any other driver I hit during the fitting. I knew my SIM2 was leaving yards on the table, as it's short/spinny/draw biased but it's always kept it in play. Didn't realize HOW short my current setup is.

I would echo this. I had both but at different times. LTDX LS was a 9* and Aerojet LS was a 10.5*. Both are similarly fade biased, numbers were very similar. I felt like Aerojet LS was slightly more stable if strike wandered off center slightly. Both felt hot, high ball speeds. Definitely low spin fade bias. They launch relatively low for their stated loft, which is what they are designed to do. The LTDX LS 9* launch and height was similar to my Sim2 8*, and the Aerojet 10.5 seemed to launch similar to my TSR3 9* right now.

I really wanted to love the Cobra drivers (and did) but only abandoned because TSR3 was a better fit with a touch more spin and slightly more neutral face angle. But both of the Cobra drivers were just fun to bomb.

In terms of LTDX LS vs Aerojet LS, they both seemed so similar performance wise that you can go with the one you can get a better deal on.

For drivers that would appear similar my set ups are very different. I've got the LTDX ls at 7.5, 14g heel side and 12 toe, with a 20g counterweight in the end of the grip. I lauch it way up there, probs too high. The Aerojet i've got -1d, so 8d then, and strangely 14g on the fade side with 3 on neutral. Aerojet does'nt launch as high for me even though i'm using a tiny bit more loft. Same shaft on both.

Doesn’t mean anything to anyone but you.   No one swings the club the same way

I'm a LTDx convert from the G400 Max.  I'm wrapping up my second season with this club and literally haven't even swung another driver to just test drive it to compare because I'm so happy with the driver.  I had never owned a Cobra club before and am just really, really impressed with the performance.  It really ticks all of the boxes for me and the sound/feel is fantastic.  Big fan.

Was'nt insinuating that it did. What i am saying is that 2 supposedly similar drivers can play vastly different.

if you had both in stock weight settings and same hosel setting then sure, they're quite similar. but you've built them completely differently. 20g is a lot of counter weight in a driver. you could take two of the EXACT same driver heads and they would play differently based on how you changed them.

Yeah my point exactly.  Great you made them work for you but that info doesn’t apply to anyone but yourself

I've actually done quite a bit of tinkering with counterweights (circa 2010 so 14 years now) and this is 100% accurate. It's kind of OT but I just wanted to chime in just because it's an interest of mine. Any type of setup with counterweights is entirely personal. My personal approach is to get the club dialed in first, then add counterweight. For me, I get a few (2-3mph) increase in CHS and a more consistent strike pattern.

The issue is once the builds are different, are you testing the build or the clubhead? From my lab testing days - you can only test one variable at a time...

Well, my testing started with everything stock, same settings and same shaft. LTDX ls had the edge. I then went everywhere to max this head out, which is where it ended up in an earlier post. I then went through all the same steps and some different ones to max the AJ ls out. Same results. To me, and it may only be me, the LTDX ls is still the winner. AJ does'nt go past the LTDX and it's no straighter either.
