Odyssey AI Milled sits closed

So I got my six T the other day and when I ordered the putter I put a comment in the notes about making sure the putter sits square as I’ve always had issues with their putters sitting closed. Well they obviously missed the note cause it sits terribly closed. I honestly don’t even think it was checked for loft/lie, they put it together and sent it out the door.

Biggest reason why I'll never lust over a double bend mallet. Flops like a fish out of water.

Weird, every Ai-One I looked at in store (including the Six) sat quite open at address. The only models I found that didn't sit open were the CH models.

Odyssey is known to have stock putters loft and lies all over the place (poor quality control). It simply means that these putters have way more loft than what they are supposed to have. The next time you are at the store look at one model and compare all the putters. Each one of them will look totally different..

Have you tried sitting it on a different surface? That's way too closed to be loft related. Putters can sit totally different on a hard surface versus grass, depending on how the sole is shaped.

Yes, I’ve had it on multiple surfaces and does the same thing.

Looks like the shaft was inserted crooked.  Send it back for a refund, and re-order is an option.  Callaway has a 30 day return window.

I think I’m gonna send it back then order something with a slant neck. The double bend shafts just don’t get installed correctly.

Holy mother. I did laugh really hard just now and I do apologize, but how in the heck does that dang thing make it off their lines and into your bag? 

 

If I end up getting an Ai this week, I’m for sure going to have it checked before even rolling it!

Unfortunately your slant neck is gonna have more toe hang than a double bend, so it won't be one for one. How much more? You'd have to check the spec sheet.

I’m good with that. I currently play a 7s so it would be the same specs as what I have now.

I have the AI Eleven and it may sit slightly closed, but nothing like that. The putters that always sit closed for me are any @BettinardiGolf mallets. Every one I've owned has like like your picture.
