Nollster's "I have no business playing these clubs" 2024 WITB

Recommended Posts

Sweet set up, and welcome to the WITB section man!!

So why do you say you have no business hitting these clubs?

Callaway Woods, and Cleveland wedges work best for me as well. Fantastic clubs! And that Odyssey putter is killer!! 😍😍

Mostly the irons. I should probably move to something easier to hit, but I want to like what I’m looking down at and I absolutely love these!! I’m hoping I can play these Nippon protos but I have the Nippon 105s if I can’t. I had every intention of staying with an M6 driver - I don’t like the Rogue ST non-TD at all but the TD LS was intriguing. The TD S was just dumb luck! Same with the 3W - make a ridiculous offer on the bay only to have the seller accept it! 🤣🤣

The Rogue TD S is a smaller version (440cc) of the Rogue TD LS. I don't know much about the Rogue TD (no S or LS). Here's a link to some basic info on the different heads: Breaking Down The “TOUR” Heads…Johnny Wunder. The story behind my acquisition is I was at PGA SuperStore down in Myrtle, looking at the retail Rogue drivers and just didn't like them until I grabbed a Rogue ST TD LS. Now that was something I could work with, at least visually. It was still a little cost prohibitive for me but my wife is an enabler and was pushing for me to get it. I managed to walk out without one, but the obsession set in. I started perusing the 'bay when an unbelievable deal on my Rogue TD S popped up. I put it on my watchlist, but figured there was no way it would last, so I ended up just buying it. For the price I paid, I could try it and probably sell for a big profit if it didn't work out. Boy did it work out!! I haven't done any fittings or get on any launch monitors so I can't give any numerical validation. I just know that, out on the course, I can hit whatever shot I want - as long as I put the right swing on it - and my misses are way less severe than any driver I remember playing. I can play a TaylorMade driver for only so long before it starts to look closed to me, no matter what setting I use, and that never happens with my Cally. I wouldn't call myself a Cally guy, well, until now...They definitely tuned into my soul with these clubs, but, before these, I'd say it was the original Warbirds that were the last Cally clubs I really liked.

Is it a normal pear shape or elongated shape. also is the face deeper then other rogue td drivers.

I've never compared the TD S to the other TD drivers, but there are other threads out there that do...I've added some comparisons to an M4 for reference. Not sure if it helps or not...The TD S is clearly smaller than the M4. At first, I thought the M4 was deeper, based on the address view but from the face view, the TD S looks much deeper. The link  I provided to Johnny Wonder's tour head comparison does a pretty good job of presenting those views, too.

Yeah man, I hear you. Golf is hard regardless, so might as well hit what you like looking at and enjoy hitting!

I decided to go for distance and forgiveness in every part of my bag this offseason...we'll see if they're really any better for my game. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Thanks my man…should be fun!!

The front runners are definitely the Nike’s based on looks. But as we know in life and in Golf, looks aren’t everything, Lol.

I can't wait to play this set! I picked up a set of dots at the end of '22, so SHOULD have been happy, but you know how it is!!
