It's super low spin.  I normally play 8-9* TM heads, but the 10.5 Qi10 LS was borderline too low spin for me.  1800-2300 rpm which is fine on the LM, but I like to see a little more spin out on the course for the sake of dispersion.

Brooks has also favored more “mid spin” drivers historically. He stuck with the M5 for a long time, bypassed the OG Sim lineup, stuck in the more forgiving/higher spinning SIM2 for awhile, immediately bounced off the Mavrik SZ experiment, and then moved between the two more forgiving Srixon models. The Qi10 core model definitely fits more with what he’s been using.

Thats what i figured.. I do have the standard Qi10 in order to replace my Rogue St TD so hopefully it'll do the same for me with added forgiveness.

Yes, I should have added the /s……and will add it.

Over the summer he extolled the virtues of the Srixon driver like a good endorser.  Srixon still lists him as using the ZX5 LS.

Wonder if he is still using the 9 degree head with the same configuration as his sim 2? Or did he go to 10.5 degrees of loft.

agree - Have you tried the core? Amazing performance so far, just needs a bit of hot melt imo as it sounds/feels soft stock. Way better afterwards

I haven't.  Only standard, LS and MAX.  I'm happy with my current setup.  If I run across the core version I may test it though.

Morikawa went with the “max” model interestingly enough.

He was in the Ls the last time he used a qi in competition (pebble), but he did start with the Max. Promptly back in his 8 degree sim head. Apparently TM had like 12 people around him on the range at genesis and he wouldn’t put a Qi in play. The shotgun start pod mentioned it

Don't fix what's not broken I guess. Always going back to that Sim lol.

Find it crazy that he won a major with the ZX5 and did well at the masters with it but switched. I know he hit some bad ones in the final round on the pga so maybe he was annoyed with the mishits.

I know that specific head broke the next week at LIV DC and it’s been musical chairs ever since.

For the driver Tour pros want spin and forgiveness, but YouTube club review pros and many WRXers do not.

The overwhelming majority of drivers being played on tour are low-spin. Every OEM’s most popular driver on tour is a low-spin version. Even Rory and Brooks Qi10 drivers are low-spin versions of the core.

I’ve been told for years to not make club selections based on what the tour players use. Does that still apply?

It allowed Rory to play his preferred shaft. Similar to Rory, AS and Collin like to tinker. We’re only a few months into the season. We’ll see what the guys all end up with in the bag at the Masters. I’d bet the overwhelming majority will be using the LS.
