Qi10 LS / Core rear weights

Recommended Posts

Love my LS but the swingweight has gone up loads from my SIM2 which is throwing off performance with my Autoflex shaft.

Currently at D6 (!!) with the stock weight compared to D2 on the SIM2 with a lighter weight.

Strange design also with the smaller weight in the middle of the shaped V weight which seems to be why it’s coming in heavier.

Any signs of any lighter versions yet?

The LS absolutely SW's heavier than previous generations gram for gram.  I think it is part the 18 Gram weight & part the mostly Carbon makeup.

Seems to me to be a failing as more golfers play a lightweight shaft and the SW is way off previous standard. No problem if you can easily and quickly get lighter weights but you can’t!

On my scale I compared my SIM 2 10.5 (197.4 grams) to my LS 10.5 (195.8 grams) with my Ventus Velo Blue.   The SIM2 Comes out around D3.5 and the LS is D4.2......I'm fine with playing it 4.2 but it was something I noticed because I normally hot melt my TM heads to get around 197-198 & i didn't need to touch my LS.

Yep. Only difference is the qi10 weights are black vs the silver finish of the stealth weights.

Crossed wires here. Not talking about the round weights, I know they fit. I mean the piece they fit within the Qi10 which is differentevery gen. The SIM weights were one piece and you could get much lighter ones. I have an 8g in mine vs the 16g standard.
On my Qi10 LS I already have the lightest 2g round weight so cannot make any further savings due to the heavy V surround.

Your stock round weight is a 2g? Mine was a 9 back there from the factory

I think most stock rear TSS weights on the LS model are 2 unless you custom order it and specify.

So an update.. I can find no way of reducing weight in the head. The TSS weight is at the lowest 2g, the surround weight is 14g with no lighter ones available and the front slider is 18g with no lighter available.

Swingweight is D6 way too heavy for my Autoflex.

So how practical is this solution? If the front slider can be removed (not tried) could a smaller weight (or no weight at all) be used and then the weight be made up in the rear TSS to get swingweight to the D1.5 I want?

As a general comment I find it incredible TM haven’t provided the opportunity to easily lower the swingweight to suit all shafts and players especially with super light shafts being a thing now. I also have the Qi10 core and can get that to D2 lowest with a 2g TSS in the heel.

How long is your auto flex setup?  TM stock length is 45.75.  USGA max is 46.  That quarter of an inch shouldn’t be 4 swing weight points.

is the auto flex a really low balance point shaft?

my qi ls came stock with a 1k 70x is is d4 at 45.75.

How were you able to remove the rear weights from the Qi10 LS?  Is it like the Stealth Plus where you can just use a hair dryer to heat it up and then the weight will come out?

can you tell me what the core driver head weight is and also the weight in the back and the small one in the hosel. That would be great if you can. I believe you have the core model. thanks - john

Yeah, given what is and isn't available currently, the only way to meaningfully lighten the LS head is removal of the front weight and increasing the rear TSS weight. There are enough TSS options available to fine tune here, just note that this will make the LS higher spinning and more forgiving, closer to the Core model.
