AI One DW sloppy shaft connection

I ordered an AI one double wide. The first putter that came had some dings on it so I requested a new one. that was sent and the head is cosmetically great. I couldn't help but notice the front of the shaft overhanging making this  weird little lip. If you look on Odyssey's website there is a tiny putter ferrule. If you look at all the putters shipped to customers they are not including that. I can be pretty OCD about things and I want to love this putter because I think it looks super nice. This small detail has me feeling a bit sour. What would you do? would you notice it? I know I am a bit of a nut. If you go into a golf shop and look at all the putters though..... shaft connections are flush and seamless. It's definitely on my nerves.

If you don't like it and don't feel the QC is up to standards send it back simple enough.

This.  If you are not happy with it then send it back.  I don't think I would be happy with that either.

I think it should have the little O-Ring, it looks wrong without it. Did your original one have one?

I’d also talk to customer service and ask them what they’re doing to do to make this right being this will be the 3rd one.

Poor design if that's the standard shaft. OD of the nub should have been increased to match that of the shaft. C'mon AI, design a better hosel.

Poor design and/or cost-saving measure.  Not ideal, but corporate is going to cut corners wherever they can.

To answer a few things here. I mean the first one I got the hosel and shaft matched up. It is a customized shaft option they offer being the black chrome. I really wanted to love this putter but after ordering 2 and having issues I just don't see myself ordering another one unless it is put under special orders to be 100% perfect. I also got a call from a Callaway customer service rep explaining that they will no longer be using the putter ferrule and that any with it are early production models as you can see many online that do not have it. All of this said I will Probably send them back and buy an ER2B Neo. I am glad it would bother lots of other WRX'ers as I felt like a bit of jerk.

I wouldn't be able to spend the kind of money the big brands are charging for putter today, no matter how nicely made. But even at half that price, I would not accept it looking like someone has done a reshaft and did a hack job of it. Wow.
