7 wood shaft recommendations

Currently have a Stealth 2 21* 7 wood with an Accra TZ5 Proto M5 X shaft. I absolutely love the club, it’s my 250 and stop on a dime club and I like the versatility it brings compared to a hybrid or 3 iron. However, there’s a number of instances where the spin and launch get out of hand and it will carry ~230 yards with over 170 ball speed.
Would love some shaft recommendations or other ideas on how to kick the launch angle down a degree or two and manage the spin a little better. I would prefer to not lower the loft as I don’t want it to go any further than 250.
For reference I use a Tour AD iz 6x tipped .5 in in driver and a stock Ventus Tr blue shaft in my 17* apex uw and those treat me very well.

You have some serious speed! What weight shaft is the Accra? Could go with something heavier and possibly a little stiffer profile. Or even turn down loft but go with a shaft that would produce more kick/forward deflection giving you effectively the same dynamic loft at impact. if that allows you to deliver the club more consistently that could help reduce the poor strikes. Without knowing your preferences it’s hard to say for sure though.

I’d say look at the Diamana GT it’s been a great 7W shaft for me

It’s a 75g X. Was thinking I could reasonably go up to ~90g, just trying to narrow down my options as no shops carry 5 or 7 wood shafts to demo it seems

I would definitely go with a heavier shaft then. Seems like people bump up weight in 10 gram increments for every wood. So 60 gram class in driver (I know it’s more but it’s the “60 gram class”), 70 gram for 3W, 80 gram for 5 W and 90 gram for 7W.

Seems pretty extreme compared to where you are but might be worth a shot.

I use a Tensei AV White 3W 75G stiff shaft, tipped 1" playing at 41", works great for me...

First of all, have you considered going with an Apex UW 21* instead? Just that different head design will knock down launch and spin a little, and since you already have the 17* in the bag, you already know it works for you.

My first thought in terms of shafts would be something like Diamana WB 83X or Ventus TR Black 8X. In fittings for me, those have both brought launch down quite significantly -- though that's looking at the 60-ish gram versions for drivers, not heavier shafts for high-lofted fairways. Diamana PD 80X would be another one you might be able to get cheaper, since the WB is the new generation.

sorry, but loft is loft, the ball has no clue where it came from

if you dial down static loft by 1, or use a shaft that in your hands reduce dynamic loft by 1, both will influence the same on both lauch, spin, apex, descent, carry, rollout and total, because "loft is loft" no matter where it came from.

1 or 2 stronger, by static or dynamic loft, will change distance by the same.

That means its impossible to get what you seek.

if the shaft you play feels good, keep it, and tune static loft.

I’ve been told by shops they can’t reduce the static loft on a bonded stealth wood? Are there places that can?

I have the uw 17 currently and I love it, issue is with the 21* it goes a bit too far and doesn’t suit my gapping well. I get too many balls going 260+ with the uw 21 and I really only want this club to hit into Greens.
