Wow Nelly's back on another hot run!...that's 3 MC's in a row. If Lydia's pre shot routine gets any more complex and longer she needs to be put on the clock!

Kind of hoping Lexi will finish strong and win this but JYK is a danger amongst the other top placed players. 

Not seeing the media hyping up the Scottie Scheffler - Nelly Korda comparisons any more. That didn't age well...

Someone goes on a run and the media and sponsors just start dumping on attention and expectations. It's a tough if not impossible thing to live up to. Look at what everyone did to Michelle Wie. Her career was wrecked by expectations. She could have dominated the LPGA for years if all the nonsense hadn't been piled on her. I actually admire how she was just all "Eff it." 

 

Tiger was an anomaly. Not everyone can handle the media and attention he could and did and still does. 

Or you could say luck is temporary but skill is permanent...

Albeit one of her gal pals (maybe Georgia Hall) described Charley Hull's dress-sense as "a bit hoochie" (can't find the quote off-hand ... presumably it means a dress-sense that's provocative/ bling-bling / show-off-ish? e.g. "a bit Essex"/ Jersey Shore?)

FYI the "LPGA Korea" youtube channel has some extended highlights packages, that aren't on the main LPGA youtube channel. 

(many= English language, i.e. still sourced from the main Golf Channel/NBC broadcast).

...p/s: Surprised that Amy Yang (and some others) use spikeless shoes, that appear to be more tennis shoe vs a golf shoe  (vs soft-spikes) ... surely the preference should be for shoes that provided better grip?

The commentators mentioned that the "Nelly-Ruoning-Hannah" 3-ball had very little chatter. 

Ruoning tried to give Nelly a prolonged condolence-hug after completion of the 18holes  (but it looked like Nelly just wanted to GTFO).

Any recommended viewing spots from people watching on TV or having attended this week? Going to try to head out there one of the days this weekend. I like spots that have them hitting driver up close ideally where you can stand behind the tee box and then a green close by so you can go back and forth where it is less crowded - maybe farther away from the clubhouse. Would go early and just camp out on a hole and watch players through.

Kind of lol. After watching my pre tournament bet blow a 5 shot lead last week and my awful last 18 months… I have no confidence whatsoever. I did take Jin this week but only because 35-1 was AN INSULT to the queen. 
 

the No Laying Up podcast lads picked Jin to miss the cut citing her poor recent driving stats. She also has a terrible record in this major .
 

I watched all of her first round and wasn’t particularly impressed. that’s not the Jin I love making those mistakes . I think the leaders get the worst of the conditions and she’s out of contention after tomorrow ….but sure as hell hope Im wrong

Cruel game. Can't say I'm shocked that Nelly missed the cut given that she missed the last two, but the manner in which she did it was mind boggling. Trying to manufacture hero shots when a par would do. She certainly wasn't the only player who couldn't find a green, or a fairway for that matter. Putter was a total meltdown.

Also, I heard some chatter that she and her caddie were trying something different in that she was choosing clubs and he was, for the most part, going with whatever she said? How'd that work out?

I think the same -if you wear spikeless shoes as a pro you just aren't swinging athletically enough.

 

Go play lawn bowls or croquet.

 

Or LPGAT, play longer courses and/or longer set-ups so a player can't compete by just pushing it around the course. 

 

In contrast, they mentioned at the men's US Open that 30% of men still wear metal spikes.
