The Slider - New training aid by Robert Rock and TRS

New training aid developed by TRS and Robert Rock. Looks like it could be quite useful if you want to go down that style of swing. But then again, I am sucker for a training aid. Here's Robert hitting a few shots with it:

Or, just use an alignment stick under your trail armpit, which does pretty much the same thing but keeps your trail elbow more in front of you on the backswing:

Not a fan of it if you place it as low as he has it like in the picture iacas shared. For full swings, I’ve used it right below your delt. Doesn’t allow a crazy gap but there’s still a gap between your right arm and side. You can also tighten/loosen depending on how much of a gap you want to see.
 

An instructor I once worked with liked it for removing over swinging or too much slack as I call it. I bought it just for fun and thought it was a pretty decent aid. 
 

I also don’t believe using an alignment stick like hideki has is similar. Does a few things but one of them is getting the hands to work out which the strap doesn’t do imo. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4J9GdSI68G/?igsh=b3dhZHVqaXpmYW5n

Or just stick an extra glove under there to help you feel the connection.  🤷🏻‍♂️

Not as good. You want to keep your lead arm on the stick until at least P6 to create the right combo of tilts and rotation.

Disagree with your assertion about the alignment stick. The player in that video hits a pull fade as his stock shot and is clearly bringing his shoulders and hands more "out".

That’s fair. I did say they aren’t similar drills which I think is the wrong word. I do believe there are some subtle differences. Biggest being with the alignment stick, it encourages you to keep the lead shoulder down and rotate. Just my .02

there are plenty of elite players who have the trail elbow away from the body all the way to the top. some with the upper arm horizontal at the top.

 

being tucked matches with only some swings. that’s why there is the saying “if you’re tucked, you’re you know what.”

Nobody says you need to tuck your elbow, btw. More just keep it in front of you a little longer so it doesn't fly too far behind your seamline when it separates from your torso (which, IMO, it should). That said, plenty of people play great golf with a very retracted trail elbow.
