Anyone going to the golf show Friday?

I'm going sometime this weekend.
Want to chat with the guys opening the new range/practice facility in Eden Prairie/Edina.
Like the teaching aspect. Kind of Golftec like.
If I was to open one (and I"ve given it some thought), it would be heated stalls, indoor simulators.

yeah, Totally Driven is the one. Not been to their facility in Oakdale either.
Just not to fond of not getting full flight.
But still interested, cause its new and gives me some reason to go to show.

Yeah.... If I was closer I would too.. If nothing else to talk to some local clubs that might be willing to wheel and deal on memberships

Agreed. I was horrified when they left the dome. The Civic center is not a good venue IMO, and certainly not a good place to hit a new club. They should consider the Collusium at the State Fair Grounds. I think I'm skipping it this year again.

I would have driven there for a bit of a surprise..

Well the golf show was a complete waste of time. I give 2nd swing some credit for really keeping it afloat. They had a TON of inventory there and a bunch of hitting bays. The OEM's were a joke. They had almost zero selection, no launch monitors and seemed completely disinterested in being there.

Talked to the guys at the Jewel though and they knew all about our group coming down in May. So that was cool.

So......I headed on over to 2nd swing and ho'd a driver. Tour Issued TM SF 1.0 282 long hosel with an AD DI 7X. A sweet little driver.

Great idea! I'm 27, live in Brooklyn Park, and a 12 HCP. Would definitely be interested in playing with some WRX'ers at some point.

Sign up to join in on the day trip down to the Jewel. May 18th.
You'll get a chance to meet a few wrx'ers.
There's a thread going with a poll attached that Ladahl put together.
And courses will open around first part of April, so maybe an earlier small group.

I live in plymouth, I'm 55 , so old and everything, but still enjoy playing with you youngsters.
Tho if you ask me if I play from the senior tees, we got issues.

Good to know about the trip on the 18th. Just learned about this Mn group. 2 years ago I made my bucket list of MN Golf Courses to Play mixing and prioritizing according to Golfweek, Golf mag and Golf Digest. Only need Dacotah Ridge and The Jewel to complete all of them. So, this fits my goal. I am planning to play Dacotah at end of April.

Twin Cities are supposed to be getting more snow over the next few days so I am thinking the season start is going to be pushed into April

I am taking a plane to the DR this week, with tee time in Teeth of the Dog next Friday, plus 3 other golf dates. Now, when I come back, I can see that in Des Moines the weather wont get under 50 during daytime from March 25th on (Accuweather). The Twin Cities will take 2 weeks after that to get there, so if it doesnt gets better, i will plan an escape.

I am playing Teeth of the Dog at $180, because I am playing as a guest of a Villa owner. Then I invited a very good friend (me paying to play La Estancia, a PB Dye course 10 minutes away from Casa de Campo, really nice, and I will play Dominican Federation price, $55 plus $20 for the caddie). 2 more times I will be playing the Santo Domingo Country Club, were you have to be invited to play. Is the only golf course in the middle of the capital city, and is a very good layout. If you never heard of La Estancia is because Casa de Campo marketing has a grip on La Romana (the region where they are located).

No... The more we talk about it, the more we are convinced we should keep it pretty loose... Would be nice to have #'s set by end of April though, but not needed... It'll be a fun, easy, breezy kind of day

I play with a group the third week of april at the preserve on lake rathbun. The honey creek golf resort. Stay and play package is really cheap. We pay $279 for friday and saturday night, all you can golf and then a round sunday before heading home. The cabins are nice enough and the course is playable. Breakfast and a burger/beer lunch at the turn is included each day.

[/quote]OM can be very sloppy depending on the time of year. It was basically built on a swamp. Nice course though.

Yeah I am very familiar with the course but the driving range should at least be open so I can hit some balls.
