So, I've not been able to get out since the lift on the ban.

Tried to get a single tee time and was told 630pm at three different courses.

But i'm interested in getting feedback from the community here on how its playing out ( pun fully intended).

Last weekend I tried to score tee times about 90 minutes after hearing about the courses being allowed to open. Last Saturday was largely a no go, first available was 5.30something, but I got a time for 3.40 on Sunday. This at Pheasant Acres.

Played today at 1.00, got rained on starting at 17 green, not too bad. My game is pretty rusty, but weirdly, SW is helping me get up and down a lot more than I'd expected for this time of year. Playing tomorrow again, late morning.

Course is in pretty good shape. Greens aren't up to midseason speed, but they're better than what we'd normally see for the first week of the season. They've put what looks like foam noodles in the cups, around the pins. Ball doesnt drop below ground level, you can retrieve it without touching the pins. No rakes or ball washers.

I'm hitting a ball with a stick again, and I'm liking it.

John Green at the Woodbury Golf Galaxy is awesome to work with, highly recommend him. Being that he's at a GG the rates are very reasonable as well. He can also do outdoor sessions at the Oak Marsh range.

Such a far departure from last year.   It was record or near record amounts of snow around me.    By the end of March I was wondering what type of mistake I made moving up here, lol.    This year we've had so little snow and the temps have been so mild.  If this keeps up all the course will be open for the season here in a month!

Looking at my lawn right now there is not one speck of snow on it. I honestly don't know if I've ever seen it like this on Jan 25 before in my life and I've been here my whole life

Early 1988 and also 1999 were very mild too. We had 70+ degree days at the end of February both years.

 

I'm going to check in on Oak Marsh, I have a sneeking suspicion they might open up this coming week but if they don't someone will.
