I was chatting with one of the pro's who played a practice round with him on Wednesday and he was saying Bubba is just incredible. He said on the 18th Bubba took the shortcut up the 10th hole fairway. He ended up 80 yards from the green. He also said on a Par 4 where he was going in from about 110yards, Bubba was pin high on the fringe of the green. He said he told Bubba, "Hey buddy...this is a par 4 not a par 3!!"

 

On Friday I thought I was standing out of reach of the drives on the 1st Hole about 70 yards from the green when I heard a loud craaaaakkkkk and the people behind me in the homes beside the course were all jumping up and screaming. Bubba's errant drive had hit the roof of one of the new houses being built and ricocheted into the pool of the house next door. He needed about ten more yards to clear the corner and be about 40 yards from the green. Incredible power on his swing.

I was watching the 3rd round, Mr. Bubba Watson comes up to a par 3, 210 yards. As he is beginning his backswing, the announcer said the club he was using was an 8 IRON !!!!!!!!!!! I thought, "There is no possible way he is going to get it there." DEAD CENTER OF THE GREEN!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!

I was watching him at the Australian masters earlier in the year and into one of the par 5's Nick O'Hern and Robert Allenby both hit 3 wood for there second and just made it where bubba hit 6 iron to dead center of the green.

He was anywhere from 50 to 100m in front of those two on every hole on sunday.

I agree, the G5's should sell better with his success. Bubba hits it DEEP, but pretty straight too!

I just hope Bubba learns to putt a wee better...amazing distance....but as we witnessed a shortknocker won the tourny....On one of his amazing drives 398... on a 449 hole..hit wedge to 8 ft and then 2 putt..Ouch..Sure is fun to watch go big!

pretty sure he still has a few balls in the air that weren't cleared for landing yet. that guy can put a hurtin on a golf ball. its really incredible to see a guy have about 50 yards left on a 450 yard hole.

It's just mindblowing the distances he hits the ball. However one hole when both Funk and him were going for a par 5 in two, Funk with a long iron and Bubba with something very short, both ended up in about the same place. If Bubba works on his 100 and in game he will be deadly

The pga tour only measures average drive on two holes a round. These may have been the two holes that Bubba took it the deepest.

There's an artikel in Golf Digest this month (on what to what on the PGA this season) He's is a very colourful guy (as a kid use to spray paint his clubs pink) try to get your hands on it it has a lot of nice information.

 

According to the artical he has the tendency to do things different, on the nationwide tour they used to say about that : That's just being Bubba...

Wow is that ball ever far up in his stance. I noticed it on tv but not that much until I saw that pic. Good way to get some high launch. Anybody know what degree driver he's hitting? Left hand looks really weak too...interesting.

Bubba hits it fair long alright. Heard he hit 11/14 fairwyas on sunday and was the longest in his group by about 50 yards on every hole. If he keeps hitting it that far and that straight, he has to be the best driver of a golf ball on tour.

I saw that article in golf or golf digest whatever. It said his driver has a loft of 6.75 or something ridiculously low like that. I had asked the question before here about what shaft he uses and some people thought it was a true temper bi matrix because it is graphite with a metal tip section. I am going with that as I know no different yet...
