Hey Everyone,

Sorry, was out of pocket last night...

We are working feverishly on the launch, and are now only a few days away. 1st run testers (you know who you are!) should ship before the end of this week, and we should go live with our sponsorship here and with our updated website by the beginning of next week.

Thanks for everyone's awesome enthusiasm and interest! I have a few more sneak previews to share this week, so keep your eyes open for new posts!

Thanks,

-Dave

Hey, was wondering if you saw the new Cameron Proto - basically, a Newport/Detour fusion. Kind of thought it overly "borrowed" a lot of the Machine's concepts

moecat,

yes, I saw that... I commented a little on some of other threads.... My invention of the "thrusert" - a face insert that extends through the back cavity of the putter into an adjustable back-weight and alignment tongue, was put into practice with the HOG Superline, and was also the first anser-style putter to employ this technology (we also made the Thrusert ™ in the 1005D half mallet model).

The CNC milled HOG 1003 Superline putter was used on TOUR by a top five player, who shot 64 in his first round - within one day of first seeing the putter and being fit. That player had multiple top-five finishes, and suddenly the putter became the subject of MUCH controversy, including two negative rulings - where "secret precedents" were said to be controlling and including an emergency “kangaroo court” appeal at the ‘03 US Open. After a lot of work by a lot of attorneys and industry experts, finally, a year later, a change in the interpretations of the Rules were announced. The 1003 Superline was THE FIRST putter approved under the new plain in shape interpretations in June, 2004 (the 1005D was the second model to gain approval). Our putter wasn't used to win the '03 US Open, but we do hope that these technologies will one day be used to win other tournaments!

I am now updating and modernizing those innovations with new options, features and benefits and customization levels in the new MACHINE putters, and have multiple patent claims pending.... The curved tongue and line are Scotty’s, though I do note that there are numerous prior art patents for curved lines, and even curved appendages (does anyone remember the Makser putter with the little fin-flange appendage off the heal? – Jose Maria used it for a while I believe).

Our new tongues on some new models (yet to be released or even sneak previewed) will offer optional tongue lengths, shapes, alignment marks, and of course user-adjustable, customizable weight and balance. Sneak previews will appear here on WRX! Different strokes for different folks, and now, different licks for different sticks! (I just made that up! might need some work....) :)

Thanks,

-Dave

Thanks for all the PM's and calls. We were snowed in here this morning, so I got a little extra GARAGE time in.

Here's a sneak peak at a putter in progress

M1-A1 Adjustable weight MACHINE "ART" Putter, milled from copper billet, hand satin finish and natural patina, with copper stubby hosel, hand hammered peen in cavity and on back of bumpers, 350-365 grams, silver paint fill, "flamed" UST FF shaft...

More soon!

Thanks for your patience! I will try my best to reward it!

Here is another putter in the works - or should it be "in the WRX?!" :)

M1A1 fixed, in 303 stainless, sight line and a dot, highly melted bumpers, prior to the dew (mist) process, 1018 CS hosel, gunmetal blue, flamed UST FF shaft.

More later, including some photos of the grip-end of the equation.

Dave....simply put, you are amazing. I am stunned going through this thread and seeing all of your amazing work. The only problem I see would be trying to decide which one to buy!

And the green tools are fantastic! I appreciate a good knife, and you are making those in much the same manner. Impressive!

Count me in as a soon-to-be customer....it would be an honor and a privilidge and I mean that sincerely.

Great work!

Ha, HA, you guys arguing over the "standard" models almost makes me glad that I'm a

"mental cripple" when it comes to three-footers. Nobody will want dibs on what I need.

That said, I've really enjoyed seeing all of the different models that Dave has in the works.

I would say that they are going to be VERY popular and in demand....... God help us all

if he gets one into someone's hands on the Big Show......

Whoa! I can't keep up with all the posts! Rather than try to quote everyone, I will just call out your screen names and post a quick reply:

TM Golf Guy 182: Thanks! Lots of elbow grease in that puppy! I have some more in the works I think you will like too. More to follow... -DB

Moecat: Thanks also. The last model pictured was a polished 303 stainless head with a gunblue hosel (and a "flamed" shaft tip that I think looks really cool next to the gunmetal hosel.. this effect reminds me of two things: one of my best friends from HS who putted for years with a zebra mallet that had a double bend shaft that a pro had heated to bend flat, and more offset for him - it had those torch marks for YEARS! 2nd: it reminds me of pipes on a motorcycle after the heat turns them iridescent. I like this combination because the business end of the head is worry free, but you still get a softer feel from the carbon steel hosel. Plus, it looks pretty too! (yes, you should wipe down the hosel with silicone to protect it).

Drewspin: Is your name Drew or ART? Now I’m confused. :) Yep, can do in LN. as a matter of fact... (just have to wait until I complete this, and then commute back to the home studio)....(thanks for your patience!). ;)

Mrq: Thanks. We’re working on local get together, so stay posted!

RIDEamountain: You are too kind. Glad you picked up on the fine knife connection. I have a small collection of pocket knives, and am a big fan of the amazing work in that field. Puts my crappy little green tool efforts to shame (but inspires me nonetheless!). Back to work for me!

Rich71691: Thanks for all of your kind words (and all of your PM’s too!) So everyone knows, you are a tester for round two...new head shapes when they are in prototype and test stages (as quickly as I can, I promise!) Thx. -DB

Nick01: We have to see what LaMont, Chris, Drew and the other Round 1 testers choose, and then what I choose for my personal vault, before we know what will be available in this first release. Probably around 60-70 putters, and Production and Custom SHOP orders will follow shortly thereafter too. so hang in there! It will be OK! (also, check your in box, I sent you PM replies yesterday, and again today...) Local Junior fitting session is in the works.. :)

TM Golf Guy 182: See above. More to choose from I promise.

tulkaz: thanks! I really appreciate the kind words. We will be announcing release early next week. However, the Transformer with the tongue and mallet back rings will be slightly behind the M1-A models for delivery – another four weeks or so depending on our supplier for the robotic bent rings. Tongues may be sooner. Will advise as we know more. Thx. -DB

Reebus: you may have to wrestle with some of my friends who use the long putters. I still owe you a picture of the Grande Long HOG that I plan on adding to the Revival series.... Will try by tonight or this weekend at the latest.

nick01. See above. Hang in there! (I am big like a HOG, hense the name, and used to play football and wrestle, so don’t get any big ideas on stealing anything!!!). :)

>>>

OK, now that I think I am caught up, here’s some more exciting news (at least to me anyway): UPS dropped off some new grips to ME today! Picks after my commute....

Thanks again for everyone’s interest and support. This is a blast! Thanks, -Dave

Hell, I don't need to be a tester. From what I have seen in the pictures, I will buy one just to try. If it doesn't work, BST with Chris and just buy another :drinks: Over 160 sets of irons in 6 years says something :) I am just glad putters are a little cheaper :)

Dave,

When these roll out, will they be in stores or offered directly though the site?
