Hey Everyone,

 

I was so inspired by the new A. Art prototype Byron Morgan collaboration process "reveal," that I decided to show a few drawings of our new M7 MACHINE Putter in the early stages of CAD design work. ( I saw someone's request for those drawings, and figured "Hey, I can do that!")

 

This is an example of my "morph design process" which starts with a CAD blueprint produced for us by IMPACT Golf Technologies, "way back in the day," and then has been redesigned in many many different "morphs" that I have been working on for many years.

 

This is a very small screen shot from a very large matrix, among a very very large number of files... :crazy:

 

Somehow, I have decided on a new version to be created as our new M7 model line (in fixed, adjustable, convertible and transforming models, and all the new custom series, etc).

 

If you guys like seeing this kind of stuff, I can show more of it (Kiran, are you there?).

 

But please don't start asking for custom putters in each individual shape... (maybe we should do a poll / vote at some point).

 

Hope this screen shot works. (if not I will re-post).

 

I should see the next draft of the web launch tomorrow, and will keep everyone updated on the launch timing.

Well, that seems to work for me, but here is the same file as an attached .jpg file, in case you can't access the .pdf file.

 

In case you can't read it, the files say,

My dimensions are still double EXTRA top secret (probation)!!

Very cool drawings, Dave. Would love to see a progression from hand-drawn sketches to CAD drawings to finished product sometime. (Not that you don't have enough to do already.)

I am curious how you go about communicating your initial design concept to the CAD architect/programmer, if you don't mind sharing some of the process.

Hey Everyone,

 

Sorry for the delays. I am working with our web designer again today, in anticipation of going live later this weekend or early next week at the latest. Instead of just updating our old site, as previously planned, we have started all over with new architecture, and entirely new copy, order processing, etc.... Its a lot of work (most of it completed already) and I believe will make the new site much more streamlined and easier to navigate.

 

Probably more exciting for everyone, we are also working on several new finishes, new hosels, etc. and have increased the number of putters in the 1st Release to try and meet the increased demand...(still less than 100 total pieces, with no two alike).

 

I also had the pleasure of working with Brett Hull for the better part of two days earlier this week. Brett is a super guy, a very passionate golfer, and really knows his putters and clubs. He has putted with some of our earlier prototypes, and really loves the new stuff.

 

I fit Brett with a Prototype hand patina, pre-worn, aluminum bronze M3A with gunmetal ring and bronze stubby hosel, UST FF shaft and Hank Haney Reverse Arch CNC milled MACHINE Grip. Brett's second putter is a prototype Mil-Spec M3A with 303 stubby, UST FF shaft and Hank Haney Reverse Arch CNC milled MACHINE Grip. Brett also is trying out an extremely rare HOG Superline 1005D with 1 of 2 white powder coated tongue, UST FF shaft with double bend and 4:00 toe hang, and MG3 CNC milled alloy MACHINE Grip with electroless Nickel plating.

 

Brett is working on a more arcuate, or gated stroke, and really loved the stubby hosel. We also moved the weights around in his AlBr MG3 head to help him take it back on the proper path. He was making everything in our studio, and was pretty pumped, as was I to see him stroking it so well!

 

1st Release serial numbers 000016 and 000022 are now out of circulation and in a private collection! (cool) (the Proto HOG has a HOG shaft band, and prototype 1 of 1 AM&E headcover)... I will post some pics later this afternoon.

 

I will also try to get back to some of your more detailed questions and PM's later today - but right now running to complete several photos and copy revisions for the new site.

Whew...I was away from my computer for a couple of days and thought that I would have missed out on the launch! Glad I didn't!!!

 

This will be worth the wait...I for one would rather see delays than to have things be rushed to the marketplace and not be 100%.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's swamped right now. We had been talking for

quite a while, off-and-on, about a putter made to my specs. He

has always been prompt and super-courteous in responding to my

many questions during this period. Making sure that he understood

exactly what I wanted and that he could do it. Suddenly, he's "dropped

off the face of the earth" and I'm having trouble getting in touch with

him. I figured that he only has so many hours in the day, and sooner or

later he'll get back to me. Plus the more time I have to think about

it, the more things I want........

Hi Everyone!

 

Guess what? We finally got approval on some items for our website from legal, etc. and will now be going live this weekend!!!

 

Sorry for all the delays, but several items have been out of my control. I know, sure, sure.

 

I can't believe its been so long since I posted anything. I have been having serious withdrawals. But, I have been very busy making even more putters in my garage. :crazy:

 

Besides, I've been in Europe, yeah, France. That's it. And my roommate and / or shop worker got on my laptop wrote all those earlier posts advising of earlier release dates... Do you want to buy some rare napa tour putters? Still in plastic? ;)

 

Seriously,... I hope to restore my slightly damaged credibility and reward your patience and faith in Dogleg Right by finally offering some great looking and super performing putters to all you WRX gang first, ahead of the rest of the world (is there anybody else that matters?!).

 

Also, everyone here who has at least 5 posts will get a five percent (5%) discount on anything in the 1st Release (unless you said anything nasty or derogatory, and then the price goes up by 100%). ;)

 

I will post a few more sneak preview photos later tonight, and then make some more announcements tomorrow as to exact timing to go live and let everyone see the 1st Release putters, start taking orders, etc. I also have a few more surprises and other fun news.

Great to see you back in the land of the WRX'er. I wasn't exactly worried, but had some concerns for your safety. I sent out a pack of top secret Pink Daschunds to make sure you weren't in any trouble. Funny, they never returned. Last I heard, they were spotting in France, with a guy packing a box of putters.

Looking forward to anything and everything that is sure to come.

Nice, I was supposed to take my wife to France last year. But darned it all, my secretary embezzled all my money and bought a bunch of drivers and putters. :) Needless to say I decided to keep her around and give her a raise. Every golfer needs a good fall guy. :cheesy:
