Good Balls for About 12 handicapper?

Alright guys, I need some ball suggestions here.

 

I've been playing the NXT Tour for as long as I can remember, and they DO work for me which is why I'm reluctant to change balls, but I mean I'm just looking for a little variation.

 

I find the HX Tour Bites work very well for me, but they do get a little chewed up on the wedges :drinks:.

 

Any idears?

Bridgestone E5+ or E6+. I recommend these because they perform well and are in the same price range as the NXT. Otherwise, i'd still go with the Pro-V1's or the Bridgestone B330S or even the Callaway HX Tour

NXT Tours will save you SO much money. Cheaper per ball and last longer. Get the Pro V only if you have cash to burn and are wanting to stop those half-wedges on a dime.

Give some of the new top flites a try. . .the gamer is a great 3 piece ball at $19.99 for a dozen. . . or the deal of the century d2 feel are $15.99 for 15 balls! They are so NOT rock flites, give'm a try.

E6+ is a great ball.

 

I am trying the B330S and Prov1 side by side to see if they are any better than the E6+.

 

Right now the E6+ feels softer than the B330S. More testing is needed. :drinks:

e6 is the best ball in the $25 to $30 market, I've tried many others.

Another advocate for Bridgestone e6+'s here. If you prefer more spin (ie Prov'sh), you can go with the e5+.

I very much like the E6+ as well; I am also testing the NXT Extreme and played a TP Red yesterday; was very impressed with the ball flight into the wind and also the durability- played one ball the entire round with no scuffs... I play to a 12.

Maxlfi Tour Fire......Since they were discontinued you can find them for $19.99 a dozen. Dick's has a huge display and stock of them near me. From all reports this is essentially the same ball as the TM Burner TP for $5 cheaper right now. Great spin and distance......I just stocked up on 20 dozen.

your choices are:

 

e5+ - great spin, firmish feel, high flight, decent distance.

Burner TP - softer but livelier feel, feels hot but soft at the same time... it's abit weird. It spins well, can shave on the wedges, and it's travels very far.

Gamer - very similar to the hot bite but cheaper.

I here there's a wilson ball in this catagory but I don't know what it's called... no one stocks them around me...

 

My Advice stick to the NXT Tour, nothing gives you the same smooth feel. Every other attribute it's in the same ball park as the rest of them listed above... feel seems to be the biggest difference.

For Wilson balls, there is the Zip, the 50/50, and.....I think it's called the P3X (or close to that). You can find these at any Wal-Mart. The P3X is a pretty good ball. BTW, I'm a 10 'capper.

Is there any concern with distance or performance loss with the E6+ with high speeds (110+) due to over compression?

Ya know I have to agree. Actually I have been playing with the regular Fire ball at $9.99 per Doz. They are ok for a surlyn cover. The tour fire just has a softer cover.

Have enjoyed playing the e6 and the Tmade Burner TP and like the Burner alot. Sometimes it comes to $$$

 

At this time with my lost ball ratio and inconsistent swing I'll stick with the Fire series. They are soft enough and even the Reg Fire ball hits and releases about 3 feet for me. It's just fine for now.

The e6 is a great ball, but I recently switched to the Top Flite Gamer. It's a long ball but the cover still has some grip to it, which is great around the greens. At $19.99 it's a better price tag.

I see people referring to the TM Burner TP and I tried a couple dozen of this ball (I'm a 12 handicap) as i think it takes a couple dozen balls to really see if you like them...I liked this ball very much off the putter and for chipping but I did loose distance mainly off the tee as compared to the TP Red/Black (last years model) I had been playing...I am currently playing the new TM TP Red/LDP and have my distance back...however, I recently found a new ProV1-X and played it for nine holes and loved it...distance was great, felt great of my irons and it felt very soft for chipping and putting...just my 2 cents... :man_in_love:

I think the NXT Tour is crap.. likewise the TF Gamer, which I tried on a suggestion. It shred like crazy. Pro V1 is a great ball.. Srixon AD33 is a great ball for the price. Precept makes a good ball. I'm in the process of trying others..

Look for the 2007 edition of the Taylor Made Black TP ball - buy 10 dozen or more and you won't have to worry about buying new balls before the TM Black Tp LTD ball is on sale next year for the same price :man_in_love:
