The shafts are hardstepped 5.5 based off 38" 5 iron D3 swing weight thur the set with the pw D4.

One of the range in my area has small sand stones , so some of my irons have been scared.

Post a review about the feel and trajectory . KBS is a different animal compared to other shafts .

Guys, I the AF tours have very little offset in the pw-8 iron and gradually increase to the long irons.(about the same as the 32's maybe a little less) in the long irons- size of the blades are pretty much the same also.

I have gone to the range for 2 short sessions and will play in Atlantic City NJ tomorrow (warmest day in a month hi of 42*) LOL give a review on sunday night/monday some time.Early reports are VERY good.

Played Feb 1st 45-50* steady 15-20mph winds first round in month and a half and first rd w/ AF tours!

 

A little background on why I bought new irons- looking to increase launch in my long irons and old irons getting worn out. I had played TM tp mb w/ Rifle 6.0 standard L/L/L for the last 2 1/2 yrs and liked them w/ one exception the long irons-I hit them OK but usually alittle on the low side( Ball striking is the strength of my game short game comes & goes).I think the lack of offset and low bounce coupled with my home course (wet) conditions made it difficult to consistantly get a quality strike.Thought about buying Burner tp or something more forgivig in the 3-4 irons BUT couldn't find anything I liked.Didn't want to go w/ 2 hybrids.

 

Looks: obviously I really like the classic look of these clubs and the satin finish really sold me on them. The ho in me went with the GP ND whites and they look and feel great.I previously played GP tour velvets.

 

Feel:Awesome! soft, solid & as good as anything I've hit. Personally I'd rank it this way

preformance:The AF tours have a progressive offset thur the set with barely any (low) in the short irons and about as much as the Mizuno MP 32's in the long irons. I'm hoping and believe this in combination w/ the KBS shaft will bring my ball flight up in the long irons. I went with the KBS 5.5 hardsteped after testing DG x100, Project X, and the KBS and I really believe in this shaft the smooth feel & ability to control trajectorty is effortless. Playing the wind cross,into or down I never felt handcuffed or uncertain in playing any shot.

 

The technology behind the AF tour w/ the weight moving around the blade (the nike swoosh if you will) also aids in controlling traj. I hit alot of 3-4 irons in my practice session and are so much easier to hit and hit higher without ballooning or any compansations to your swing.

 

All in all I could not be happier with these irons and the build was spot on by Golfwrx'er bsc1872 or the mobile golf lab. I'd highly recommend these.

Thxs Shuttle1,,, lousy playing conditions who said anything about bad conditions that's as nice a day as we've had in the NE in about 2 months LOL ! You guys know how it goes first round of the year use the k.i.s.s.(keep it simple stupid) method. Don't try anything crazy ,, not a swing thought in your head next thing you know a solid round,,, the problem is the 2nd-3rd rds of the yr !!

 

I agree w/ you once I get out there and can get a little use to them,, no question the AF tours are going to be good!

First 2 pics(7 iron shows it best) are of the suttle leading edge grind (very slight if anyone has a set of Titleist 690.cb they also have it) :man_in_love: :D

6-8 rounds into these irons and shafts (honeymoon period is over) and I can say without question the Epon AF tours are the finest blade I've ever gamed! Between the rounds played and a few sessions at the range I feel like I got them "dialed in" and really starting to "play" some shots w/ them. Got a couple of strange looks from my buddies and some comments about sending to much time on this site (LOL, that one may be true) but and the only comments I'm getting now is" can I hit them, where did you get them? " and " those irons sound so SOLID " !

 

Well I got them from bsc1872 (golfwrx member) and certified club builder/fitter click on his user name for his website and contact info. Brandon can hook you up.

The AF tours are the only set of irons I've owned w/ KBS tours in them. I breifly tested a set of AP2's and TM Burner TP tour issue irons and found the shafts to work well in ALL the heads. I didn't like the sole configuration on the AP2's and how it reacted with the turf- but OK. The AF tours team really well with the KBS shafts and what I like best about them is the increased feel on the partial shots (knock-downs) something I didn't have with PX.(part clubhead-part shaft for increased feel)

 

The KBS shafts IMHO play great,feel great and for MY game/swing gave me what I was looking for; slightly higher launch, less spin (don't back up my 8-9irons anymore (more of a drop & stop) & and seemed to gain about a 1/2 club in the 4i-6iron from less spin)

 

I've talked w/ 4-5 guys who are in the process of ordering the AF tours hopefully once they've gamed 'em for a while they will chime in on their results. :ok:
