I went to Golfsmith today for some lead tape and took a stroll around the clubmaking area. I'm starting to get into clubmaking a little, so I saw a few items that would definitely help me with my hobby. First, I needed a better ruler because a measuring tape wasn't cutting it. I saw the ruler and it looked like it would work great with it's hinge mechanism so I picked it up. Price sticker said $39.99. Then I saw an open box scale with a price of $99.99 on it. I passed it up and went to the counter with the ruler and lead tape. I asked the girl if they had any new scales in the back so she ran off and checked. She came back and said yes, but the one in the box was in worse shape than the floor model. I said "Okay, I'll take the open box model." She replied, "You're gonna like this, its ringing up at $20.00." Sweet. So she says your total is $37. Huh? The ruler rang up at $7.00. Double score. So I fully anticipated paying well over $100 for my items and I walked out over there just a hair shy of $40.
