I was able to get a Scotty Cameron 009 for $550!! Bought it off a guy I played golf with who really didn't know anything about it

I went into a swap shop yesterday with my dad to see if my Sun Mountain bag had sold for $45, it did. So as I was looking around I spotted an original Steelhead 7 wood with an EI-70 stiff and a brand new ND Red grip on it for $15. Yank. Even if it doesn't beat out my Nike 3 hybrid, I can always resell it for the same money and not worry about it.

Then I was taking a look at the driver rack just for fun and saw a Titleist 983K. I used to have one and picked it up, 7.5* (about 2*-3* lower than I normally use) but it had a real blueboard 73x in it for $35. So I grabbed that too, as I said before, if it doesn't work I can part it out and break even maybe even make some coin.

So total out of pocket for me was $9 for two clubs after the shop takes it's commission cheque, and I got the bag for free anyways. There were a lot of retro clubs for a decent price. 845's 5-Sw for $50, Ping Eye 2 Copper's for $350, a bunch of Ping Wedges for $35-$40 (like Eye's, Eye2's, ISI-K's etc). A lot of better players equipment this year too, normally it is ALL high handicap clubs, but I think I made out okay this year.

I just picked up a brand spanking new MRC 'ilima 70x x5ct (uncut!) from JD's on the bay for just a shade over a bill shipped 2-day express! Went under the radar since it was finishing up as the leaders were playing 16. Any of the real deal MRCs for less than a bill is highway robbery!

About 6 years ago I got a r7 tp tour issue 3 wood with a diamana blue board 83s for $50. I was playing with a guy on a college golf team and he could not hit it. Best $50 i've ever spent. Its still in the bag.

Not a lot of talk about components here, but I scored some SMT 303MB iron heads for $30/shipped. Was missing two heads, which I got on eBay for under $20 - Less than $50 for a new in wrapper set of blade heads.

Walked into the Golf Galaxy in Vegas on the way to the airport and found a Tour Edge Exotics XCG 4 wood for $42 used. Very clean with an Aldila NVS 75s shaft. Have been looking for a deal on a Tour Edge 4 wood for a while to try without spending $300 and I am happy to have found one.

I went into my local swap shop today looking for a misc. headcover for a newly acquired 3 wood. Found the cover and went through some used clubs only to find a MINT 13* Titleist 906F2 with a real Diamana red shaft. Price tag....$19.99 YES PLEASE!

Im going to swing it and see if it will beat out my other 3 but if not ill definitely turn a profit on the shaft alone!

Big score this week.

I was in Play it Again Sports and walked out with some good prices this week.

Got two lightly used Titleist Vokey Wedges, a 56 degree 400 series wedge for $19 and a 60 degree 200 series wedge for $19. Grooves are sharp on both and in great condition with normal scuffing from use. Both have Rifle shafts. New Winn midsize grips on both came to $25 bucks installed and away I went. $65 for two Vokey wedges in excellent shape.

Also scooped up a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter with headcover, brand new in plastic, for $200!! I was skeptic at first but did a bunch of research online and it's a legit putter, not a knock off. It's a 2008 model though, new putter, old stock... Works for me!

The best one was a Sun Mountain Three 5 bag. Got the 2010 model, brand new with the tags for $80. They retail in Golftown at $180 up here. It was dusty but a quick meeting with my air compresor and a damp towel and it's brand new again!!

That was the extent of my days off this week with our foot of snow on the ground and balmy freezing temps!!

Yes, this is in Red Deer. Play it Again Sports. In the strip mall off the west side of Superstore. They have a ton of golf stuff in there right now. I was eyeing up a Ogio Synchro cart bag that was black and red plaid. It's on for $79. Used but in great condition, all zippers working and no visible damage at all.

FYI, I was in Red Deer Discount Golf yesterday and heard that River Bend range may be opening this weekend or next week, depending if the weather does what is predicted... They have a problem with that dip in the middle of the range though, they need to pump it out before they can open up... I was out scouting Alberta Springs the other day too, gonna be a while out there...

Yep, I was just down at River Bend on Monday for the Men's League meeting and they said they will open the range ASAP. But the course has a long way to go. Hopefully a few days of warmer weather this week will speed things up a bit, I'm going crazy waiting!

Yep, I was just down at River Bend on Monday for the Men's League meeting and they said they will open the range ASAP. But the course has a long way to go. Hopefully a few days of warmer weather this week will speed things up a bit, I'm going crazy waiting!
