Very Nice

As a guy with a high 90's (and occasionally, low 100s) swing speed, I am always looking for a ball that will give me distance with a soft feel and good spin around the green. Furthermore, I don't feel the price of a super-premium ball is a good investment for me. Most of the time, I play a ball in the 20-30 dollar range the with e-6+ a key ball

After testing out the Nike One Vapor, I have to say I am impressed
1. Looks - unlike Cally balls, there is nothing going on in terms of graphics/writing on the the ball. Lot of white + plus an alignment aid. I loved the look.
2. Durability - I took two balls out of play. One landed hard on a cartpath and took a nasty scuff. Another took a minor scuff after 5 holes and contact with a tree. Best of all, I may have found the first decent ball that has a cover that will stand up to the MD grooves on my lob wedge. Two full shots and one pitch - not a mark on any ball.
3. Distance - very good. Using a Skycaddie to mark drives, I was getting 10 yards over the B330RX distances of a few weeks ago. Best of all, it was coldish and the fairways were wet from rains. I was VERY impressed.
4. Spin - While it definitely spins better than a typical 2-piece ball, the iron spin was noticeably behind what the B330RX delivered. Nevertheless, I manage to get the ball close enough to the hole to bag three birds today. Not bad for an 11 handicapper.
5. Feel - Considering the durability, the feel is "harder" then any Urethane ball you will find. No question. Compared to mid-priced balls I have tried and favor Bridgestone e5/6 and Srixon TrisSpeed, it is only a little "firmer" but not awful. I think guys who like the NXT will like this ball.

Bottom Line - It was a favorable test and I am looking forward to hitting them next week. Indeed, I am kind of sad I have 2 dozen TP Burners ready to go into play (gift from wife.) I have an urge to buy another dozen.

Good review- I've been really interested in these since I found out they're basically a durability version of the tour D. I plan to use this or something like this as my "swing change" ball so I can get some sort of performance without having to think of each ball as an investment.

I agree completely with the review. Great ball, great price and it holds its own against it's mid to high twenties competition. Doesn't spin quite as much as the Bridgestone E6+ but also goes a bit further off the tee. All around a super ball.

I read that Joe Durant put the TriSpeed in play last week in New Orleans. Not bad for a mid-priced ball.

This year I played the following

 

Tour D, Vapor and Pro V1x.

 

I really do notice a diff between the balls. I though the Vapor was fantastic. For the price, it cannot be beat.

 

But, If I'm going to spend 50 bucks for a dozen, I'm going ProV 1x
