Cool Vintage Classics on Ebay

I didn't buy any vintage clubs off the bay, but I did buy some from Colorado Junior Golf Assoc. as part of their donated golf swap. It was amazing what they had and no real idea of how rare some the sets were.

Anyway, picked up a set of 1976 "Bullet Cavitys" from Wilson, BH Apex II White Silhouette, and a set of some Australian Blades unsure of year. All three sets cost me something like $120!

I will post pics of those beauties when I get a chance.

There's some work in that 693, but it would make a lovely project and be a real treat to see it through to fruition. It's beyond my capabilities, sadly, but good luck to someone out there with the skill and patience to bring it back to its former glory. A classic driver if ever there was one.

It pales into insignificance next to a classic persimmon, but I've just picked up what looks to be a decent example of a My Day off eBay. Fifteen quid ($25) has bagged me a club that I've been thinking about picking up for a while. I had some of my best rounds as a youngster with a borrowed My Day that sadly had to go back to an owner that I've since lost touch with. I even bagged a course record with the thing. I've been half-heartedly looking out for one for years, in a sort of hopeful bid to recapture former glories, but they seem to be relatively rare putters in my neck of the woods. At least in any sort of acceptable condition, anyway.

My poorly shoulder at is at least up to a bit of putting practice now, so I'll be chopping an inch or two off my new club, sticking a new grip on the thing and rolling a few putts by, hopefully, the middle of the week.

Heres a sweet M09 LFF.. Nice driver, but if I am not mistaken didnt the M09 variety with this toe stamp have an Eye O Matic insert?? Still a nice block..

Question about the 693.

Does the lack of a screw at the bottom, where the shaft is inserted, indicate that the club has been reshafted?

Looks like the Driver was the only club that was ever used. Very clean.
For that price, I think I would keep them that way.

Nice clubs, but not from 1958.. I dont have my Kaplan catalog book in front of me, but I am guessing 1962-1964.. Its funny people sometimes get a date in their head, and after a while they just believe it (Kind of like I keep on thinking I am a certain handicap, and have actually started beleiving it!)

John, I am certain you are correct. I did not look at my Kaplan catalog (it was sitting no more than 5 feet from me - good grief, lazy of me). Still pretty rare to find woods in original condition in the original box. Just think if these were M85s, 945TWs, or 693s. $$$$$
