Burton Leather Bag - Staff Size

A good old friend of mine had his black leather Burton (staff size) bag stolen back in early April. He's been able to easily replace all of his clubs, but has been unable to locate and replace his beloved old leather bag.

 

The only reference I could find to a bag like his was called a Burton Pinehurst. From what I can tell, they haven't been made this bag for several years. I did find one photo that my friend confirmed was very much the same, except for maybe the handle.

 

If anyone has one of these bags and would consider parting with it, PLEASE let me know. My friend has a birthday coming up in about a month and a similar bag would make a great present.

Good luck. I had one of those in dark blue in the late 80s given to me by one of my buddies. One of the zippers was busted, but man that bag was fantastic and sharp looking.

I have this bag, but I will not part with it. As you know they are a great bag!
Although I have not looked for a bag in sometime, I am sure you can still get them.
Try looking at their website, ebay, amazon, or google burton bags. Best bag I have
ever owned!!! GOOD LUCK !!

You might try Leathergolfbag.net. It is not a burton, but they did have
nice looking leather bags. Just a choice, if you can not a burton.

Thanks, but we've already checked with Burton and all of the other usual suspects that you mentioned... no luck. I've had a search with eBay for over a month now and just missed on a couple of "Buy it Now" listings. Thanks for the support... this is a great site !!

Thanks for the effort, however I think we'll continue to look in the used bag market.

Their prices are well beyond our limit.

I have a brown Burton bag along with the travel bag with the double compartment for shoes and clothing. I purchased them back in the late 70's and would never part with them. I do have a newer Calloway bag given to me by my son but it is just not the same. Classic!

FYI...The Burton Pinehurst is actually a Vinyl Bag, and was considerably less expensive than the Leather version of the bag which is called the Burton Premier Pinehurst.

Be very sure you know which bag you are bidding on if you are able to locate one of these on ebay or elsewhere. The Vinyl Pinehurst looks very good and could easily be mistaken for Leather when looking at ebay pics. The less expensive Vinyl Pinehurst has the advantage of being more water repellant and noticably lighter than the Leather bag, although both bags are quite heavy by today's standards.

I play with a version of this black bag....Ben Hogan, but made by Burton or Miller. Have had it almost 20 years.

The modern bags just look too modern for me.

hi all-
new to this site...love it.

anyways, i was finally able to talk my dad into giving me his old burton bag, but i don't know much about it- how old it is, etc. it has the burton stamp, believe it's made out of kangaroo leather (since there is a stamp on the side of a kangaroo), and the front zippers for the pockets go up.down vs. the rounded front pockets that i've seen on a different burton bag. if anyone has any further information, i'd love to hear it... any info is appreciated. thanks!
