My 200 yard club would be a stock 2 iron, but I don't carry it, I have a hybrid I can't hit worth crap off the deck. (It's a Sonartec Md, LH, 19*, if anyone's interested, PM me, I'm selling it). Me and hybrids don't mix.

 

But anyhoo, yeah, stock 2 iron, maybe a hard 3.

At altitude here in Colorado I hit a 4 iron/ hybrid, but im sure at sea level it ud be a 3 hybrid

That's frikin amazing with the Sergio sand wedge 185-yard thing...I can only imagine what the ball flight and hangtime would be like...unless he topped it and it rolled on forever.

 

200 yard club? Usually a 4 iron under normal conditions, with a pretty level green. If a little more spin is in demand, I just take a 5 and kill it.

I just wonder how big the gaps are w/ someone hitting a 7i or 8i 200yds.....I'd hate to hafta hit two 8 irons into a 400yd par 4 :)

This depends on what I have in the bag. It can be either a 2 or 3 iron, a hybrid if I pure it, a light 5 wood or a 7 wood.

 

Currently with what my setup is, it will probably be a smooth 5 wood (sad... I know)

I've played college golf for four years now... never came across ANY of these mythical monsters that hit their 8 irons 185-200. Kids are hitting it pretty far, but no one out here is turning 7,300 yard golf courses into pitch-n-putt's.

 

 

... and 200 yds for me is a stock 4 iron. Probably about average in college golf.

Down wind, 8 iron and that is all.

 

You can diffently hit your 7 iron 200 controlled, if you have the swing speed and impact right, it is made. I am a longdriver, so the speed and fast hands are there to use. I would rather have a full swing than try to knock down a 5 iron and miss hit it.

I play with a guy that would use a 7 iron for close to 200 yards, but he delofts the club so much that it's close to a 4 iron. I have no idea how he makes contact with it, but that's how this guy swings, all the way thru SW. Needless to say the top of all his Fairway woods are very very hurt ;)

i have about a 3 iron/7wood and im 5 foot 2 so im happy with that

 

i hit my short irons with huge distance gaps like 8 iron 125

7 iron 145-150 and then i get up to my long irons and im lucky if their is 7 yard distances..

might just b worse ball striking i dunno

 

gained alot of driving distance in the last year tho...250/260/270
