Bearing in mind, i'm 13, and compared to my mates, i'm not exactly the longest hitter, I hit my 3/R Baffler (20*) or 1/R Baffler (16*) Depending on the firmness of the fairways and how much run i'm getting etc.

i would tee up my ball 2 cm choke down on my rescue mid 5 iron put it right where my left two is and swing easy if its windy or i just use a 24 flihi mizono club (try to draw it) depending if im down wind or no wind at all or up hill or down hill.

200 yards for me is a solid 4 iron. In warmer conditions (ie <20*C) it's a hard 5 iron

I've played college golf for four years now... never came across ANY of these mythical monsters that hit their 8 irons 185-200. Kids are hitting it pretty far, but no one out here is turning 7,300 yard golf courses into pitch-n-putt's.

 

 

... and 200 yds for me is a stock 4 iron. Probably about average in college golf.

 

thats because college players realize that its better to hit a controlled iron shot that you can depend on, than to participate in the long iron long drive challenge. I used to do that, then i realized that was stupid so I decided to not try to hit my irons as far as humanly possible. Although there are some players with 130+ clubhead speed who hit 7 irons 200 yards. You play for lehigh? I played at American U for a year.

Im an idiot and have stiff flex irons shafts for some reason and i have box grives on all of my clubs so i spin my 3 iron and it holds basically right where it hits + most the courses i play have really soft greens so the balls sticks pretty well. I carry my 3i like 187-190........so taht leaves me with my 2 hybrid that i carry like 210. so ya there u go let the laughing begin

I am the same way. It all depends on the hole. What is around the green? Water on the rite i will pound a 7 iron. So the only place i may miss is away from the water. It works the other way around too if there is water on the left i can hit a 3/4 5 iron with a cut 99% of the time and not worry about going left. For a 200 yard shot I can smooth a 6 iron no wind just playing for the middle of the green. I swing hard. Driver SS is around 125-130. 6 iron SS is 105.

Other occasions : I Have hit 7 irons that airmailed the green and 3 woods not making it... I love playing in the wind!

I forgot to add, if I am playing in Utah/Colorado/ Hawaii. I say Hawaii becuase at Kapula my distance control was nowhere to be found. I was bombing the ball. In Utah and Colorado it is just plain stupid! Coming from Cali and Chicago golf I love Utah!!! Really tho guys/gals, it doesn't really matter how far you hit a golf ball it matters how well and chrisp you hit it everytime. " You are as only good as your worst shot" I have that on one of my golf bags. So I can think back and go damn I will hit the high cut 5i instead of a 6 or 7i. It all depends on how you play golf.
